Cake has challenged Saitonia to a duel at The Underworld!
The sounds of the rush of lava are brought to an ambience as the shriek of a portal rips the air. A jacketed figure, skinned in what seems to be black clothing with neon lights of all colors, casually walks through the portal, hands tucked into pockets that reach into an abyss of the unknown. A mask covers this figure’s face, two purple eyes breaking the shrouded attire. It lifts one hand from its right pocket, a purple, pulsing energy sword appearing within its fingers. In a blur of motion, the sword is swept diagonally across the portal, leaving a brief streak of purple light in its wake as the portal is sliced in half, and eventually left to dissipate. The roar of the portal comes to a stop, and the rushing lava fills the air with its rumble once again. On the opposite side, the sound of a roaring bass begins to drum the air. A figure, clothed in a purple robe and cursed with purple eyes, stands atop a platform of shifting darkness, heading towards the arena floor. The music begins to beat among the arena, its echoes rebounding from the lava formations at the very edge of the arena, and as the bass drops, a pancake lands on top of the figure’s hands. It begins to walk on the arena floor as it jumps off its mysterious platform, and aggressively takes a bite out of the delicious delight as it points a single finger towards its opponent…
“Saitonia… I expected you to look badass, not like a night sky on the fourth of July!”
Saitonia merely laughed as his burning eyes of violet stare at the Monk…
“And I myself expected a challenge…”
Pancake’s smile suddenly forms a frown, and as he takes two steps back, an outstretched left hand begins to summon two writhing vines from the ground, poisonous spines protruding from both flora. The vines shoot out the poisonous spines, aiming for Saitonia. Saitonia smirks as he spins out of the way, the spines shooting past him and lodging into the volcanic rock far behind him. Sai sends out a well-timed energy ball, only to be deflected by Pancake’s pan.
“Pitiful attempt…”, Sai states grimly as he follows up with a sword strike, the haze of purple energy from his sword turning into a lethal hue. He charges after Pancake, his eyes now a violent void-like purple.
His sword rebounds off of a shield of thorns formed by Pancake, but the a huge gash is seen on the shield as well. Vines suddenly break from the ground and reach for Sai’s limbs…
“C’mon Sai, you gotta be more patient!” Pancake utters as the vines close in.
“Patience is no form of bliss.” Sai’s sword slashes through the vines, leaving lump green stems on the rocky floor of the arena. Pancake curses briefly, and dashes for a nearby rocky growth.... But he leaves a dazzling, golden, syrupy pancake in his wake.
Tempted, Sai smirks…
“Listen, the reward is supposed to be give after I win, but I appreciate the kind gesture, nevertheless.”
However, as soon as Sai takes a bite, he finds himself unable to move, and out of the rocky cover in front of him emerge a viny tendril and a spine, both aiming right for him. Cursing under his breath, he slices the spine in half, but the vine wraps around his neck. One swift slice sends the tendril into lifelessness, and Sai makes his way towards Pancake’s rocky refuge, only to be welcomed by a strike from Pancake’s pan. Getting back to his feet, Sai sends a kick flying towards Pancake’s shin and follows with another sword slice, marking a searing purple gash on Pancake’s robe. Sai lets out a slight cackle as he goes in for a second blow, but in an instant’s notice he is flung into the air by two vines, with two poisonous spines heading straight for him in mid-air. He pops out a purple energy shield, the spines dissipating into the violet force field. He lands face-first onto the ground, but swiftly backflips into a standing position, an energy ball charged in his hands. As Sai lets the ball of ghastly energy fly, Cake hurls a rock in front of it, letting it shatter and the debris hitting Sai in the face. As he recovers, Sai spots two spines hurled straight towards him, but before they hit, his energy shields make swift work of them. Another sword slice from Sai sends Cake toppling to the ground, grunting as he attempts to get back onto his feet. Before Sai can celebrate this short-lived victory, two tendrils pop out of the ground and pin him down. A spine is sent at Sai’s chest, only to be sliced in half. Cake drops another pancake as he backs up, but Sai is not distracted by the golden pancake for long. Another energy ball is shot, but swiftly deflected by Cake’s pan, as Cake’s right hand grabs his cloak and brings it over his pan, the pan disappearing as the cloak flies back into its place on Cake’s sides. The ball of swirling energy goes flying into Sai’s sword, the weapon turning a hellish red, glowing furiously. Grinning beneath his mask, Sai charges towards Cake, sword at his side, not noticing the two spines shot at him by Cake. A single spine nicks him in the chest, and Sai is staggered for a little, but slides under the second spine, barely missing his face by an inch. Cake launches off of a summoned tendril into the air, and Sai follows, attempting a slash, when suddenly, the poison takes effect. Hallucinations of Cake appear everywhere, around Sai, in a circle. Mid-air, Sai spins around and shoots energy balls in all directions. Unfortunately, they miss the real Cake, and he deals swift justice with a downwards swing of his pan… or at least he thought. Sai pops his shield in panic as the force field shatters into pieces of slowly evaporating shards at the strike of the pan, making Cake recoil and wince in pain as an energy ball sears through his chest. The two land on the ground, and before Sai can recover from the strike, Cake wrenches his sword out of Sai’s hand and kicks him to his knees. Sai, however, lets out two small energy balls, nicking Cake in the chest, but far from staggering him. Cake’s tendrils break from the ground once again, and carry him up. Swiftly, the tendrils smash him into Sai, leaving Sai on the ground with lots of lost health. Sai gets up swiftly, his mask cracked in a few places, and sends out two energy balls once again, only to be blocked by a chunk of roc held by Cake’s tendrils. He lets out another syrupy pancake as he backs up towards a pool of lava. Sai, clearly fighting his desire, turns the pancake into a pile of dust as he makes his way towards Cake.
