I agree with your posts usually but if youre in the mindset that solo vs stacks is an issue in competitive i cant agree. If solo players feel like its a disadvantage to play solo then continue to play solo theyre using a cop out excuse. Im for better matchmaking always but as a guy who solo qued lunas way back if youre better than the enemy team you can win in 4v4

I feel like there is an easy fix for the solo content conundrum. Just put scaling onto activities so that if you go in solo, or in a duo, or whatever the content scales up to the challenge. Conversely, they could create something akin to the nightfall cards that allow for modifiers to be applied by the player with appropriate loot drop quality to match. I also prefer solo/duo for activities and would love to have the ability to scale something to my fireteam size and by applying scaling or modifiers content gets designed for everyone. Raids shouldn't be messed with, that's a very specifically designed activity. While I would welcome more solo/duo content in the game, I think we have to think realistically now that Bungie has separated from Activision so they're resources will be limited. Combat scaling would be a useful compromise I feel. I would also add that it would be awesome to replay the main story and forsaken missions over with skill modifiers with updated loot drops to boot. I know we can play heroic versions of the missions but I would like to play from start to finish again.

The story/campaign is the underlying structure of the game. It is the "theme" of the game, and what you should expect of the whole thing. What theme does the story mode guve in Destiny 2? We can't do this alone? Friendship allows you to overcome all odds? Heck no. The story theme of Destiny is -blam!- everybody else, One guardian will take on 5 armies at once and save the entire day. Even the assault on Calus. Guess who had to do basically everything, all by themselves? Yep, the silent Guardian. How many Guardians travelled to Mercury to help Osiris? Just one. How many Guardians killed Xol on Mars? A single one. How many Guardians flew to the Tangled Shore and cause mass genocide for their ex-Vanguard in clown shoes? Only one unkillable juggernaut. ...and then, you try and tell everyone that Destiny is about teamwork and groups working together to overcome impossible odds. Yeah ok, I'll just solo another planet's worth of hive.

Or, bungie could deliver a better multiplayer experience and abandon the solo experience in n their online coop game.

Matching on raids will never work stop being stupid

IT WOULD AFFECT MY EXPERIENCE BECAUSE YOU FOLKS WANT TEH GAME (WHO ALREADY IS VERY VERY EASY) GET NERFED EVEN MORE to be clear no matchmaking for nf or raids, never ever, deal with it no raid nerfs no mission timer nerfs no puzzle jump nerfs just l2p like the rest of us

It doesn't impact me but it'd be a pain in the ass filtering through all the crying about AFKers, hopeless players mechanically, and people just trying to get carried through raid matchmaking all day on the forums or other sites. The inevitable crying post spam is all it takes for me to be against it. Just look at the Reckoning whining and turn it up by 1000. That'd be raid matchmaking.

Destiny 2 is an ONLINE-ONLY MULTIPLAYER first-person shooter video game. Yes buying the game and playing solo is on you as you're using it for the wrong reasons. Making stuff like Shattered throne that happens to be "solo able" is a nice thing but isn't what the devs should do, since the identity of the game has always been TEAMING up, do pve and PVP content. I'm a solo player and even I know its silly to force devs on some swj type vibes. Leaked D3 will be a single player story mode game where your ghost walks you through it on easy mode while giving you all the guns on completion.

I’ll start by saying that any rude comments are unwarranted regardless of reasoning. That being said, yes making solo content does affect people who aren’t solo players. Solo comp, for example, would make matchmaking extraordinarily longer where even on playstation, it already can take 5-10 minutes to find a match during low hours. As for pve, well you’re in a bit of a situation there too. If you want purely solo content, content you can only go in alone, the very nature of a game like this would tell you that they prioritized that content over other team based content they could have added or improved. And if you’re going for content that is just reasonable to solo but you can still go into with a group, then the core issue is players that run with their friends will feel like they’re being cheated out of engaging content. You could circumvent this by adding some penalty or increase in difficulty based on the amount of people you bring with you into the activity, but outside of that people are gonna care. Edited to add that I realize that you offered that you don’t need to sacrifice quality for making a better solo environment, and frankly I don’t think that’s completely accurate. One of your mentions in shattered throne, for example, is certainly solo-able, but the issue is it’s not very solo-able for casual players, which is what a lot of the solo community is comprised of. You can speak for yourself saying that you can solo those kinds of activities just fine, but I have plenty of friends that like to run by themselves, and at the end of the day, most of them’ll ask me or one of my friends for help after a few hours of trying

This is nothing personal or anything like that, just saying. Since when is it so important to make a post about some people making rude comments to solo gamers about solo events? especially after one has been made about it? it's not like it hasn't been this way with (everything) since the day D1 released.

Honestly I agree on everything except one thing, raid matchmaking. I wish bungie push it as a beta test and lets see how it goes. Their first take was guided games, which didn’t really work out, maybe an inbuild lfg would be nice.

They tried catering to solo players with the launch of D2 and look where that got them. I’m not against content for solo players I would just rather them put the resources into something I can play with my friends.
