Thank you Bungie for making another way of getting cores without chucking loads of shards at the spiders face. But he needs so much more, especially with Shadowkeep on the way. D1 had a good gunsmith allowing us to field test weapons for reputation and allowing us to order weapons straight from the manufacturer. D2's Banshee needs a little more luvin'.
You know all those rare engrams that drop every 20-30 enemies killed? Then you clear out your inventory to receive just glimmer and materials? Well how about trading them towards a legendary weapon? I propose an idea I clambered together (I say that because it was a spark of the moment and it may have flaws) and that idea is called "Weapon Hunting", and it's broken down into three tiers. Here's how it works.
There would be a featured auto rifle, scout rifle, pulse rifle, etc. and to receive the weapon, you must give Banshee a certain number of the weapon type found in the field, that way he can use the parts from the guns traded to craft the legendary. This would be tier one.
Tier two involves a bit more hunting. In tier two is a featured energy legendary, possibly fully masterworked if Banshee feels generous. Except this time, you must find guns that match the energy type of the legendary offered.
Tier three is where the hunt really kicks in. For tier three is a featured power weapon, maybe a slightly higher power level than your current. However, to acquire this, he needs the materials found in a particular rare gun. So you must grind for that one weapon, all over the planets, till you have it.
I also thought there would be a bonus section where for you could exchange Prime engrams for lets say, 3-5 cores, but thats probably too much.
Of course, it would be a one time trade for the legendary, so guardians don't farm shards, materials or mods off the poor machine.
What do you guys think? Like I said, it was a spark of the moment, so if you find a flaw, please let me know. All I know is, it's better that constantly cleaning rares from my inventory after a strike or patrol run.
