“What is 3+3, Tiger?” Dr. Feliz asked.
“Uh……9..no shit that’s 3 times 3 right? It’s six ain’t it?” Tiger stammered.
Yes, it is 6. You really need to practice your math.” The Doctor noted.
3 hours had passed since they had begun their testing. Dr. Feliz had amassed a large amount of data, proving the intelligence of this mutant. While intelligent, it often would try to mask its discomfort with humor, or try to steer away from certain subjects.
The mutant began speaking again, interrupting her train of thoughts.
“Yeah kinda hard to learn other subjects when I’m confined to a…a…what the -blam!- is this entire facility anyways?” Tiger asked.
“That I’m afraid is..erm..top secret.” Dr. Feliz shifted uncomfortably.
“Lady, who the -blam!- am I gonna tell? One of the workers who are in on this? Ooo! I know, I can tell those damned scientists who try to stick needles in my arms to see whether or not I’m probably a cocaine addict who enjoys long walks on the beach?!” Tiger started to get hostile. If the mutant decided to attack, nothing would be able to stop it.
“Okay okay! Fine!” She quickly said. “I’ll tell you and give you this stuffed animal.” She gave him a stuffed animal, resembling that of a dragon. The mutant took it quickly. “Yey.”
Dr. Feliz put away her notepad. “As for your question, this facility is designed for bio-organics testing to try and find a better tomorrow for all of us by elimin-“
“Oh really? Then why are they putting guns on a mutant in the room next to me?” Tiger interjected.
“ILL RIP YOUR SOUL OUT AND FEAST ON IT!!” Screamed something in the next Cell over. Distressed yelling followed by several muffled shots of a tranquilizer. A large thump shook the ground.
“Shit...Fine. This facility was built for building a bio-organic army to conquer the world. Our ‘employer’, gave us 30 million upfront for the research, and we’ve been consistently been testing different animal life forms for months now. You were the first successful combination of human and animal DNA.” Dr. Feliz said.
“I’m sorry, human? Who the -blam!- ripped their pubic hair out to create me?” Tiger fearfully said.
“Well...it was actually the lead doctor, Dr. Fenrir.” Feliz said.
“So my dad was a asshole named after a wolf, and my mum was a tube?” Tiger dryly stated.
“Uhhhhhhhh.....yes...?”
“Fan--blam!-ing-tastic. Half asshole and half tube. Created to fight even though I’m lazy. Yay...” Tiger sighed.
“Look on the bright side, at least you will have free health insurance!” Dr. Feliz said happily. “Every single one of our employees get free health insurance in case of terminal failure with the power core and our experiments get free. Assuming they’re alive after the beasts get put down.” She solemnly added.
“Well that’s even better! I get put down like a cow with a bolt gun!” Tiger complained.
“Actually, they inject you with a specialized poison that kills the brain while leaving the body intact for more genetic experimentations.”
“FAN--blam!-IN-TASTIC LADY!” Tiger yelled.
“Don’t give me shit, mutant. Otherwise I can order the execution!” She spat back.
Tiger’s eyes glowered.
Dr. Feliz sighed. “I’m sorry. But trust me, escape is almost impossible. This facility was built to endure the worst attempts. We even have several back up generators. Nothing can get out. So either you do what we say, or you will be put down by Dr. Fenrir. I was given 3 days to examine you, and I didn’t want to-“
And almost like coincidental magic, the lights suddenly shut off instantly. Red lights turned on, illuminating the dark in an eerie setting. Alarms blared through the halls. People were screaming. Something roared. And it was close.
Very, very, close.
Tiger looked to the door. “Uhhhhhhh is there a chance that other mutant is asleep for good?”
She stood up. “Let’s hope so. I need to figure out what is-“
She got no further as the door exploded in a flare of teeth and claws. Tiger ran to hide under the bed, while the Doctor was not so fortunate. Something resembling a scorpion and a lion burst through, flinging her body around in its claws. Blood spewed from her throat and face as she was thrown to the wall. The mutant, satisfied with the kill, began dragging her corpse out.
Leaving only a bloody room, a ripped up stuffed animal, and a scared and afraid Tiger, wondering how he was even alive still.
