Make Comp Playlist more Approachable - Fix Glory Rank System

If Bungie would like to attract more players to the comp playlist I have a few suggestions. I've heard that the current matchmaking system is based upon a players' wins/losses, which means a really good player can carry an average team to a win, but also means that a really bad team can bury a really good player if the other team is average or better. Matchmaking by measuring wins/losses is a good standard for measuring TEAMs who consistently play together, but not for measuring INDIVIDUALs, and it sucks for solo queuing. For matchmaking I'd like to see something which rates players based upon individual stats over perhaps their last 100 games (or whatever amount). Some large amount of games so as to deter de-ranking. Measuring K/D and KA/D would be a good start for balancing teams. You tried a number of variations when Bungie owned Halo (LOVED Halo before 343bola got it!) so you must have a few algorithms which evaluate individual skills -vs- team skills to work with. For Glory rank I'd like to see something which ENCOURAGES people to play the competitive playlist, rather then DISCOURAGES putting time into the playlist. As an average player it sucks to spend hours playing and have a net loss in glory rank. Why would anyone subject themselves to that type of torment more than a few times before choosing to never come back to comp? If the purpose of Comp Play is to only gain the interest of top tier players then the current system is fine (because it keeps 80% of the average players out). But if Bungie wants more people to enter the playlist then they need to make it more appealing to average/above average players. Glory rank is why many players stay out of comp play...it's infuriating to get to 1500 pts and then see it whittled down in part by your own skill level but also by the current horrible matchmaking algorithm, people quitting out, solo queues against stacked teams, etc all. Changing Glory Rank to something like this would make it more approachable to average players: * Winning team gets 100 pts (or whatever...this is just to convey the idea) * Losing team team gets 25 pts (or at least doesn't lose points) * Top player gets 80 pts, 2nd place 70, 3rd 60, and so on down to the worst player who gets 10 pts just for trying. This would still heavily reward top tier players (a possible of 180 pts/game), but would also gear the playlist towards people who are simply willing to grind it for the learning experience or pinnacle gear. It would take average (or really lousy) players a lot longer to get to "Legend", but it would be doable (even if they only got 35 pts as presented above w/ 25 for losing and 10 for bottom player...or even 0 pts for losing but 10 pts for taking 8th place). The point is that after hours of grinding you could see some sort of an improvement in your glory rank score. Many people don't mind losing against better players so long as they have something to show for it. But no one wants to take a whipping and then leave empty handed, or worse, leave with less than they started with (i.e. losing points). And it would end people quitting out (so as to avoid losing points) because now they would still earn something for finishing the match. And if you know you're on the losing team then perhaps there will be incentive to at least be the best player on the losing team to get the extra points. But again, if the purpose of the Comp Playlist is to keep everyone but top tier players out then the current Glory Rank system is working perfectly!
