Now let's begin![/i] Malex walked through the destroyed village and the three kinderguardians walked behind. Malex knelt down and sifted through some of the debris. His ghost appeared over his shoulder Peacemaker: I scanned the area. Looks like whoever was here left a while ago Malex: (sifts through the ashes and holds up a metal object) And it looks like I know who they are. Ricardo: What is it? Malex: A thorn [i]On the mountain overlooking the group[/i] A group of Shadows watched the gunslinger and his group of kinders. Their leader holds a thorn hand cannon in her hand. One of her men walked up to her. Shadow: Do we hit them? [...]: No, not yet. For now we just watch. We need caution Shadow: Are you afraid of him? The leader turned around and grabbed him by the throat. She lifted him above her head and growled. She began to drain the life out of him, and as she watched him die she looked into his eyes [...]: I fear nothing (let's the body drop on the ground) Does anybody else have any questions? Shadows: No Commander Umbra! Umbra: Alright then. Let's move [i]Down with the group[/i] Malex held the thorn bullet up to Ajax's nose. The German Shepherd took a sniff, got the scent, and took off. Malex motioned for the kinders to follow and jogged after the dog. Growler, little Petra's timber wolf, ran up next to Ajax, apparently to join him on the hunt. The dogs led them to a small canyon, they walked into the canyon when the trail suddenly went cold. The two dogs looked back at Malex, almost like they were shrugging. Suddenly Lillie pulled on his cloak Lillie: Mr. Malex? I'm scared Malex: Don't worry Lillie, It'll be all right Lillie: Okay Mr. Malex At that moment Lillie screamed and pointed up. Malex looked up and saw about 30 shadows moving around in the dark. A few of them leaped into the air, flipped, and landed, surrounding the hunter. They flash their knives and swords, each blade corrupted with darkness. In a flash, Malex drew The Last Word and shot three of them dead. More landed and prepared to attack. Malex just grinned. Malex: Looks like you got me surrounded, (lights up a cigar) you poor things All at once they lunged at him, but they were stopped dead in their tracks by Malex's fast gunplay. More and more shadows kept jumping down and lunging at him. Malex went to jump and evade but was stopped by a pint sized Warlock who latched herself onto his leg. Malex realized he couldn't do his normal gunslingin with the kids around. So he blocked one blade with his gun, threw a knife into another, and shot the first one. He picked up all three kinders and jumped to behind a large rock. Little Petra, the titan who usually was always eager to fight the darkness, who terrified stiff. In fact, all of the little kinders were usually very brave. But none of them had seen a real Shadow of Yor before, and indeed it was terrifying. Malex: Ajax, Growler, stay and protect! Lillie: You can't go out there Mr. Malex! Malex: (gently places a hand on her cheek) I'll be fine little lady (jumps into the battle) Malex reloaded and shot another shadow. As more and more shadows came at him he just shot, knifed, or Golden Gunned more of em. Even their combined darkness was no match for the power of his light. Finally, Commander Umbra had had enough. She jumped down. Umbra: (looks him over) So tall, and strong, and powerful. Oh I like you gunslinger Malex: What do you want? Umbra: You dead Malex: Fat chance Umbra: Surrender now or they die Malex: Who? At that moment the kinders and the dogs were dragged out. Each a shadow put a gun to Petra's head. She tried to do her cute thing but the shadow just hit her. Umbra: So what's it gonna be hunter? Malex: Fine (holsters his gun) You win Umbra: Good (Aims her Thorn at Petra) Malex: NO Malex lunged forward and grabbed Umbra's Thorn just as it went off, missing Petra. Umbra just laughed as she began to suck the life out of Malex. Umbra: You arrogant fool Malex was brought down to his knees. He looked at the kinders, who were shaking with fear. He looked at the shadows, ready to kill the children at an order. Malex wouldn't let that happen. Malex burst into flame as his solar light Ignited. He stared Umbra in the eye and stood. The Thorn began to crack as Umbra watched in horror. The gun exploded in a ferocity of light, and a hand cannon, free of thorns and darkness, remained in Malex's hand. In his right hand he held The Last Word, and in his left he held the rose, and his fire burned bright. Malex tore into the shadows, duel wielding the guns. With each blast of The Last Word, another shadow fell. And each time the Rose went off, a petal bloomed. Eventually all but the shadows were dead except Umbra, who had run for the hills. Malex looked down at the rose. But it wasn't the rose anymore. What he held now was a bright white hand cannon bursting from the seems with light. He holstered The Last Word and hugged the kinders. Malex: Let's go home [i]At the tower[/i] Petra: Mommy! Daddy! Oddish and Paula: Petra! (hug her) Oddish: I'm so glad you're safe. (stands up and shakes Malex's hand) Thank you. You saved my daughter Paula: Did you at least learn anything today? Petra: I sure did Mommy, Gunslingers are awesome! Oddish: (rolls his eyes) Oh for cryin out loud Ikora: So, the shadows Malex: Yeah. Hey, take a look at this (hands over the new hand cannon) Ikora: It's seeping with light. How did you? Malex: I reversed a Thorn The group: YOU WHAT Malex: Yeah, I know Ikora: I'll take it to the praxics for study. Um, would you like to name it?
