• Very serious topic and all, I wasn't aware that mass shootings cause video games to be made! (Read the title of the post carefully....)

    • It is strange that knowledgable men keep saying things like that while it is so obviously wrong. You only have to look outside of the US to notice it. People in Europe and even more so in Asia also play violent videogames yet these random shootings seldom happen in those countries. In South Korea for instance videogames are a big part of society and look at how many of those random shootings take place there (hint:it is less than 1).

      • It's all to distract us from the real issues.

      • That's stupid. I don't care who says it (I support Trump as well), that is just dumb. We shouldn't run away from the issue like this, we need to tackle it head on and not use a scapegoat. I promise you that if violence is removed from video games, nothing will change

      • What he is doing is essentially trying to shift the blame or focus of the “racial hate crime” form himself to a medium that has barely done shit to warrant this. Hell I’ll go as far to say that videos are hardly the problem. HE is the problem. Someone just do me a favor and crash the international space station on my head so I don’t have to look that his caterpillar/-blam!- looking orange ass head.
Yes, I hate trump. And no, I’m not a democrat lover either. I’m just sick of the -blam!-inn politics of today
• It's not just Trump, but a fair amount of Republican representatives in Congress are misleading Americans intentionally by stating that inaccurate and disproven claim. If they're doing that to keep their constituents and in general, the Republican Party, ignorant, then they are doing a huge disservice to America and should really read some of the studies that point to the contrary of their claim. Though, I am glad that there are more and more Republican representatives that are making a rallying cry to address and work on the problem and not blaming video games for the violence that's happening across the country. It's unfortunate that it took 2 mass shootings and 30+ American deaths (not counting the Mexican nationals deaths, though unfortunate and terrible, since Mexico is already getting ready to fight the US in the courts on this) in the span of 48 hours for them to do so though.

        • Let’s all just put the blame on the video games rather than the parents buying them for the kids.

        • I wouldn’t go to say it’s flat out wrong. People interpret things differently, and some do so due to mental disorders. Video games can have a drastic effect on the mentality of such person. However, I wouldn’t go to say that is the sole driving force. There’s environmental factors such as stress and bullying mixed in. Social media doesn’t really help with this either considering the mass amount of violent content you’re able to access online. Solely blaming video games is stupid. Extremely unreasonable.

          • I don’t believe its video games that are doing this to people. But it’s mental problems like depression and anger. Which has a ton of different factors to it than just video games. And while there is some truth behind some youth getting games they shouldn’t. Parents should be responsible enough to take care of their child and make sure they don’t play anything super bad. If the kid is mature enough to play a game than review the game and decide.

          • Mental illness does indeed seem to be a running theme. Sadly American Politics is firmly in the pockets of both the NRA and Big Pharma so good luck figuring out what the trigger is and legislating to help prevent people with said trigger being able to lay hands on a gun.
