IMO COS is the worst raid 'lair' experiance we have had so far in Destiny.
The setting is unimaginative and bleak. The armor is meh. The guns are meh. And the associated exotic is so awful no one uses it in any situation, ever. The mechanics and requirements also seem like just a phat pain rather than fun and interesting.
Bungie need to learn from this one. If you view my profile on raid.report I have a lot of raids completed. I really enjoy them. I also really enjoyed Niobe Labs.
I havent even done CoS. I dont see the appeal and I dont see the point.
Thoughts?

Crown is so good I run it after I already have the rewards from it
-
Perhaps, but it was the more enjoyable one for me.

What a casual

You haven't done the raid so you can't have an opinion on the raid.

“I hAveN’T eVeN DonE CoS”

You can’t judge it the way you are without playing it first. Watching someone else do it doesn’t count. Disagree with you though. Weapon aesthetics are my only gripe about the raid, everything else was solid. Not the best, but not the worst.
-
I like Crown, but the first encounter takes entirely too long.
-
I disagree with everything you said except the loot. The loot is mediocre...but that has been true of every Destiny 2 raid. The only weapons really worth chasing are the exotics....and even that is questionable given the brutally low drop rates. I think Crown of Sorrow (except for the final boss battle) is one of the best raids since Wrath of the Machine. Having to manage buffs that only allow you to damage certain enemies brings back memories of the Skolas fight in Destiny 1.....but COS is a lot better and a lot more fun to play. My only issue is with the final boss fight which is more of the same stand-and-deliver damage dump that is so often the case with Destiny 2 raid boss fights. There are only so many variations of the Golgoroth fight you can stomach before it simply gets stale and not-very-enjoyable.
-
when you haven’t done the raid and say it’s the worst raid. it’s far better than the first 3 d2 raids. you have no right to form an opinion on it if you’ve never done it
-
Eh, it was fine. The buff switching was a nice touch, keeps you active. Armor sets look nice also, except the hunter cloak. Thing is harder to look at than an Amy schumer special on Netflix.
IMO
Yeah well, that's just your opinion and you're entitled to it and ok to have that, though I think that's a shit opinion IMHO. I thought it's pretty fun, I like how the final boss can keep you on your toes, we need more bosses like that, again, my opinion. Also IMO. Leviathan(Vanilla raid to be specific) is the their weakest raid. Some share that opinion with me, others don't. Reason being, there's not enough action. Baths- Stand here. Go to mid to refresh buff. Go to whom you're rotating. Do this enough times, pile in center destroy crystals. Big whoop. Dogs- I actually like this encounter, nice callback to the gorgons from VoG Gauntlet-This a raid or a gameshow? Why? Calus-I like and dislike this encounter, I like the mechanics and intensity, but I dislike how I've been with a lot of lfg teams that just couldn't do it. Loot is eh. I like the armor on the Warlock that's about it, for weapon, if it ain't midnight coup, sins, or inaugural address, I do not want, into the trash with you

Personally I think COS has the best looking armor especially for hunters. The shaders look good too. I will admit the boss encounters are way to complicated, the raid exotic sucks, and the revive system really works against you in this raid. I think bungie needs to add more fun raids like sotp, EOW, crota, vog. In my opinion these are fun because they are simple to teach and typically only need 2-3 who know what to do. Because they have simple mechanics , it just makes it fun and quick to run through a pinnacle activities and make some new friends.
-
I have completed it twice, and I don't care for it all. The Boss fight is a frustrating experience when you have 6 fireteam members talking over one another. I have to mute 4 of my teammates to be able to hear those damn Crystals that spawns. That raid has too much mechanics, and I feel that future raids will have more mechanics that will surely drive away players. Therefore, people like the Supreme Datto will be the only ones to complete them because Bungie will listen to Datto.

Best looking Raid armor in D2, in my opinion. Certainly beats the space pajamas from the leviathan, and the not ahamkara bone armor so ultimately generic and uninspired armor.
-
"I haven't even done CoS." Muted.

For me CoS is one of the worst raids in D2. Perhaps SOS is worse than CoS, it's a close call. The first encounter doesn't feel like a raid at all, there is no strategy required to complete it. The boss fight well it is just stand in one spot and DPS. Also the pre DPS mechanics only require coordination in pairs rather than the whole team like other raids......overall it lacks the feel of a proper 6 man activity.
-
The only things I like about COS is that there is no add duty and the mechanics are great for communication. Other than that yeah it's horrible.. 30+ clears, still no feeding frenzy/firefly LMG.. After that I will not play cos again, just like last wish xD
-
Id actually take someones opinion seriously if they've actually completed the raid once. Do it and then come back.
-
As someone who has actually done COS, no it's actually pretty good. It's not the best destiny raid and it's not the worst. It's still a destiny raid, so it's still better than most other content in gaming.

Complaining about a raid you haven’t done makes zero sense.
