Elite ask for a more balanced experience in D1 because power creep. Bungie obliges and creates Y1 of D2 with SEVERE drop in Guardian power and capability. The Elite praise the changes and dismiss naysayers with pleasure. Elitists soon learn they can't make a living streaming a boring, yet balanced, PvE/PvP. Elitists turn on Bungie like packs of ravenous, two faced wolves. Bungie desperately introduced power creep with Forsaken to generate interest. More power equals more praise. Suddenly, elitists think power creep is bad and want challenge back. So now Bungie is reigning in the Power Fantasy again at the behest of the Elite once again. It's a hilarious and fascinating irony as the balance philosophy has come full circle.
Less power > more power > less power
They're also deleting paid content at the end of the season which screws over long time players like me. I'm a gamer, I don't just play Destiny. I also have other hobbies unrelated to gaming. As "gamers," I'm sure Bungie understands what it's like to make time to game. I like being able to come back to content at my leisure to earn rolls/exotics without feeling rushed. If I buy in, there's a good chance I'll miss out on stuff I paid for as it gets removed and isn't available at the start of the season.
Removal of content I paid for is is big no from me. If servers aren't going offline, neither should the content I paid for.

Bungie is banking on Completionists like me who has to have everything and charging me more money to have everything Cosmetic that SHOULD be obtainable at al time at your leisure not trying to beat a ticking clock to get shit. Borderlands 3 does it right. It has a Cosmetic Store but it’s all earned via Gameplay. Can’t buy Iridium you earn it and take it back to Angry Grampa Earle on Sanctuary. No Time Gates, no FOMO, none. That’s how Destiny SHOULD be.

Pretty soon they're gonna find out that their core audience, people with 1k plus Twitch subs, aren't enough to build a financial future off of. Sure there will be stragglers who buy the game simply because they can and don't care about losing out. But many will leave. My Destiny list has gone back to bare again. Nobody I know likes the idea of limited time content. It's like watching the Y1 exodus all over again.
