Input lag and frame rate issues in high dynamic range settings.
The other day, I had an idea.
I've plugged my PS4 pro into a nice LG, 4K, HDR TV. I should check what the HDR graphics look like!
The game felt immediately different! Input lag was pronounced and annoying! It was worse than some of my remote play experiences. Worse than some remote play instances when playing from a different city! The frame rate dropped too so that on some occasions, movement was a bit sickening.
Is my console just struggling, or was this mode just meant to be turned on to slowly pan across landscapes and admire the depth and colour? Because it's unplayable in this mode (unless you're doing the lowest tier activities, because you're wrecked in crucible if you try HDR)...

Alright everyone, my problem is fixed now! Thank you all for your replies 😍

HDR has been broken since just before Forsaken, which is really unfortunate. It looked amazing before that. Now Bungie can't be bothered to fix it.

Hdr in D2 is broken. Any dark areas are pitch black, but sdr shows full detail. You’re just now getting used to hdr in D2. I think you’ll eventually turn it off like I had to, and I’m playing on an oled.

Edited by Riceboy: 9/27/2019 2:32:10 PMDid you turn on game mode on the TV? EDIT: Never mind, I read one of the other replies. Glad you managed to fix it, I had the exact same issue when I first got a better TV.

Mine runs ok but with it enabled it makes dark areas so dark I can’t see anything even when I change the brightness so I can’t use it

TV Destiny 2 really needs adjustments. I dunno what happened but when I was on console I ran the game beautifully on my Samsung TV. Now it looks like garbo for some reason.

The TV needs to be in game mode. If it already is, the TV is crap. I have a PS4 Pro hook up to a 55" Samsung QLED, and D2 looks amazing.

I personally feel like hdr mode was made for single player since I too felt this and disabled it for destiny
