It's annoying that we have to have specific elements (Void, Arc, Solar) for certain mods. Some Exotics have no place in certain builds now because of it.
Armor 2.0 was supposed to enable us to have more customization options but with the combo restrictions and the insane cost of materials (and especially glimmer) needed, creating a build just isn't fun. It's a chore.
Funnily enough, with the increased number of options and the ability to make very specific builds ( or at least attempt to), I've put less time into builds now than I ever have.
Some of the restrictions seem like they exist just for the sake of having restrictions.

Edited by SkunkApeDahSWAMP: 10/6/2019 5:44:27 PMI agree that the mods locked to certain elements is extremely bad. It adds way too much rng to the grind. You have to grind for the stats you want and grind and grind and grind and hope that when you get a good armor piece it has the right element for the mods you want to use. If they don’t want to get rid of the mod attunement to specific elements they should at the very least allow you to change an item’s element at a cost somehow so you can continue to customize instead of being locked into the bland, boring, and unforgiving rng that is armor 2.0 as it stands. The guy who said exotic armor should have all the elements has a good idea, I think the exotics should definitely have that. That alone, however, doesn’t solve the problem and I stand by the fact this elemental system needs some refining. There is just absolutely nothing fun about getting an armor piece with stats you want and having to dismantle it because the element is wrong for what you want.
