Destiny as a franchise has been out for 5yrs. No clue where you’re getting 10yrs from. Sounds like another delusional hater who rarely played the game at all.

He is referring to Bungie as a company, not Destiny. Their business practice, quality of work, etc has taken a damn nose dive in the last decade. I know, reading comprehension is hard for some, it's not your fault.

  • Well in terms of the first destiny that's completely inaccurate to say because it was the first of the franchise and they are going to be rough at the start because it's new. By the end of D1 it was a absolutely amazing game with a thriving fan base. The problem with destiny 2 is that Activision Got involved and they wanted something new and different to be appealing to casuals and didn't give a care about the already existing fan base. They are also the ones who pushed for so much macrotransactions. Now while bungie did the right thing by splitting from activision it also comes with the result of losing the massive funds, resources, and workers that they provided. Bungie itself doesn't have as much of those by any stretch so they are essentially a small company who's trying to do the players better, while the larger companies are not. To put it in perspective they're a lvl 5 company trying to make a lvl 10 game, while lvl 10 companies are making lvl 5 games. Not saying they don't have their own problems, just saying there's more to it.

  • Maybe referring to the '10-year-plan' at Activision or including development time before D1 release ? "Development for Destiny began at Bungie in 2010 under the code name "Project Tiger", shortly after the release of Halo: Reach.[35][36]" So almost a decade since development on franchise began. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny_(video_game)#Development

  • What does his quitting Destiny have anything to do with Halo? OP never mentions halo once. It’s like saying I’m quitting Anthem after 12yrs because that’s when I started playing Mass Effect.

  • Destiny was in development in 2010, so he isn't far off the 10 years.

  • Was OP on the Bungie development team? If not, those years have nothing to do with him. He’s been playing 5yrs max like the rest of us.

  • Doesn't matter...10 years with Destiny in development or 10 years with Destiny and Halo. Either way, he is closer to those magical 10 years.
