why can't you make it that exotic armour pieces can use all the cosmetics? not just legendary armour?

Imagine you go to punch a hunter in the crucible, you land the hit and then the hunter casually one punches your ass because he has lair's handshake, but you didn't know he did because he was using an ornament. What I'm trying to prove with this example is that exotics affect gameplay, being able to know what exotic someone is using in the crucible is useful. PS: this is not the place to ask that, this is for Fashion Week submissions
