Festival of the Cost.

Shout out to everyone reminding me of the actual event name (festival of the cost). I changed the title ^^ Let's talk about the Festival of the Lost real quick: Some great Items, such as new ornaments, sparrows and other stuff found there way into the game, but: There is absolutely no reason to play the Haunted Forrest at all. All new stuff is only available in Eververse. Some Items are sold for Bright Dust, for a BIG Amount of Bright Dust, what makes it impossible to grind for the new Items, in comparison to the small Amount of Bright Dust you can actually get by doing bounties. You want new gear? You wont get rewarded by actually playing the game. You can pay if you wanna look great. Im actually paying a lot of money in and for video games. But in games like Destiny or any other Loot Shooter or MMO, I want to look sick, because I completed challenging activities, a huge grind or at least some Bounties for it, but not because of my credit card. [EDIT 2.0] Lets forget Eververse stuff for a second. This Event offers exactly 1 Item to play for. An Auto Rifle. Also, there's a little quest line and some emblems. You can finish everything in about 5 hours. An Event should bring us all together, farming for new stuff with new activities. But there is only 1 Item. Instead of defending Bungie think about it for a second. ''Dont play it'', some say. Actually i would love to enjoy Destiny! But I have to say: This ''Event'' is garbage. Sorry, but playing around 4 hours for some Emblems and a new gun, spending the Rest of the time browsing Eververse, is no Event for me. [EDIT]: 1. Some guys are complaining, I didnt mention the AR. I said, there is no reason to play Haunted Forrest. And actually, there isn't. You'll be faster getting this gun by playing PvP. 2. Its not about the money. Im pretty sure, that most of us could effort buying some silver. My problem, as I mentioned: GEAR is one of the most important aspects of this game. Thats why I think, you should only get it for playing, not for paying. Especially in comparison to the whole reskinned, shitty looking stuff they presented us last seasons. Im not even complaining on stuff like Ghost Shells or Sparrows. Cosmetics, okay. There is actually not that much outstanding gear to farm for (unique gear, special design, like Trials of Osiris Gear for example). That makes it even worse, when Gear Sets show up, wich actually look way better then everything you can farm for (except new raid gear / good shit). I feel like, they put way more work into their Eververse, than into their actual game. But go ahead and clear the new dungeon, some awesome stuff to get here #kappa [EDIT 3.0] Thanks to @Odin for this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46567 Eververse We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never intended to be a substitute for end game content and rewards. So, we’ll be making three changes for upcoming "Seasons:" We’re shifting the balance of new content in favor of activity rewards over Bright Engrams. This includes adding Ghosts, Sparrows, and ships (to date found only in Bright Engrams) to achievement reward pools. We'll provide a gameplay path to earn Bright Engrams and (all contained rewards including Event Engrams). We’ll give players more direct purchase options and make adjustments to Bright Engrams to allow players to get the items they want more often.

Bungie's a joke, plain and simple, but the player base is just as pathetic if not worse. Bungie wouldn't be charging $15 per armor skin if players weren't stupid enough to buy them. While I hate to admit it, the player base is more at fault here than Bungie is. We loved Bungie for their Halo days, and for the longest time we were willing to let Bungie slide on their stupid antics because they were Bungie and we'd defend them to the death simply because "they're Bungie". That is why Luke Smith thinks so little of us that he genuinely believes we'll just "throw money at our screens" for stupid emotes. If you want Festival of the Cost to end, stop buying the items. Even if you have the spare silver and think "I already have the silver, so I might as well spend it", don't. If players were actually intelligent enough to resist paying premium price for useless crap in the mtx shop, then Bungie would (would, guaranteed) lower the prices in order to draw in sales. But, as the data shows, players will cry about being ripped off with tissues in one hand while they're literally handing Bungie their money with the other. Bungie knows that, at the end of the day, many of the same players who are whining about Eververse in the forums will turn around and spend $15-20 (on silver) to get that $15 costume. Coincidentally, that's also why Bungie doesn't allow you to just purchase the amount you need and instead require you to purchase silver in bundles. For those who would argue "It's just cosmetics, it doesn't affect gameplay" that statement is actually arguably false. Players play better when they feel confident, and physical appearance both in real life and in game affects confidence. Players who think "I'm a bad@$$ @#$%ing space wizard!" will perform better than the player who thinks "I look like a space hobo...". When you're playing with friends and your friends are complimenting you on how cool you look, it boosts your confidence and you generally perform better. So while cosmetics may not inherently boost character performance, they definitely do boost player performance. Bungie, like most other game companies, understands this and that's why they charge insane amounts of money for cosmetics. The confident player will play better, and the players who play better stay longer.
