Are you afraid of flying? I have been for quite some time. Usually I have to self medicate to step onboard of a plane. I've gotten better these days, even took a helicopter ride this last summer.

I have no issue with flying. I enjoy it, outside the extended check in time wait and TSA stuff. I honestly think I'd be more scared on a cruise ship than a flight. I've been out deep sea fishing, and was fine, but being in the middle of an ocean is not somewhere I see myself.

I dont like heights, but if im away from the window I can fly
-
Hell yes! Its unnatural and im pretty sure everytime I've flown ive seen the wings flap. Plus, it doesn't fill me with confidence to see a tool box on the wing as we were moving down the runway.

Just don’t order the fish.

I’m certainly not afraid of flying, but I always get this weird feeling when we are about to take off. Just like “whelp this could be it”, but it’s all good. I got to hang out in the cockpit last Christmas when the pilot picked us up at our cabin to head back to Vancouver. I have to admit I loved seeing all the controls and watching takeoff and landing while actually seeing forward.

When I still had wings, flying was great. Wings are a definite reason in favor of NOT joining the ranks of Hell. But there are other perks to be considered...
-
I personally am fine with flying once I distract myself or look out the window and contemplate the true scale of reality. I find that thinking about the bad just Increases the anxiety.

thought it said heights.... ive never been on a plane before but if its anything like being really high up in the air and looking down ill take a hard N O

I loved flying as a kid, but I get bored too easily these days. Now it's just "meh."
-
Honestly the level of boredom I experience on long flights is thousands of times greater than any fear I feel
-
I’m a birb, I fly...
-
The only problem I have when flying is the bathroom line. Never one when you don't need it and 7 people waiting when you do.
-
I used to fly sometimes (with an instructor) but never really got anywhere with it. Getting a pilots license is very expensive and time consuming. So no, I’m not afraid of flying.
-
I love traveling way too much, so I have no problems with planes really. I’ve actually considered becoming a pilot.
-
Honestly not sure. I've never flown, so I don't know how I would/will react
-
I’ve never flown in the first place.
-
I have very little faith in society these days, folks work ethic i have observed most of my life leaves so much to be desired and incompetence is politicized away too quickly. That said.... HELL NO im not getting on a plane anymore. The 2 times i flew in the past i was young, cocky and had a "ready to die" bravado... Foolish. I know folks will say facts/data that it safer than "whatever" but if i ever get on a plane again with my luck, people, this plane is probably going down in flames. Im surprised more flights dont crash.
-
I, personally, am not scared, but my mom is. I didn’t fly until I was 13 because of her fear.

Aviation maintenance student here. I can assure you that planes are way safer than people give them credit for. The amount of redundancy that’s built in for your safety is staggering, and also a little frustrating for the people that work on them. I’d be quicker to trust a plane than most cars.

I got a little familiar with the airports last summer so no longer scared
