Basically what the title says. I've been actively trying to finish every Exo catalyst for the weapons I own, and I noticed that quite a lot of the catalysts are more underwhelming than others. Some Exos don't have a catalyst to them at all, mostly due to them being rather "new" to the table, which makes them generally less attractive. But let's start with problematic catalysts first.
Let's start off with the Crimson Handcannon catalyst. Sure, it increases your Range which might be good for PVP, but PvE-wise this change kinda blows, as using Handcannons in PvE is generally not a smart move. And from a lore-sided point of view, the "weapon that doesn't/shouldn't even exist" should have a more interesting catalyst that fits the premise of its existence, so some unique special effect or bonus that synergizes with the weapon as a whole. Ace of Spades, for example, has a decent cata. So do Izanagi and lord of wolves. But then there are also catalysts that have almost only negative output for the weapon, like Whisper of the worms catalyst for example, which benefits breaks between shots, as opposed to the purpose of whisper being a quick and precise DoT kind of sniper. (Damage over time). Many more problematic catalysts in the game of course, but I think you get my point.
Thank you for reading, and Bungie pls consider this to make Exotic weapons more attractive.
