Transmissions have been few to none these past few weeks, the Vanguard is not even contacting us at all. I have been having nightmares lately, visions of what is to come, visions of the Hive on the Moon, a dark threat lies underneath the lunar surface from what those visions have shown.

Week 89:
That night I woke from my sleep, my mattress was decorated with Hive Chitin and flowers from the Black Garden, both were gathered during my travels back then. The room was quite, too quiet, I motioned for Nexus who transmatted Hellfire right in front me. I picked it up, all of this was done without making any noise whatsoever.
I walked towards the exit of my quarters, when I opened the door I heard singing, a familiar song filled the air around me. I knew what song it was, Hive Deathsinging, I rushed outside the base, being careful not to be too loud. When I made it outside the base, the singing was louder, yet I proceeded to follow it.
I drove my sparrow across the snow towards the singing, I arrived there just in time to see a Nightmare of my past as a Dredgen. The Hive were conducting a ritual to bring back an old enemy of mine, one that died on Oryx’s Dreadnaught, the Darblade Alak Hûl. The ritual was nearly done by the time I had assessed the situation.

I aimed my rifle at one of the wizards who seemed to be leading the ritual. I fired a bullet directly at it’s head. The wizard died right then and there. Then the Hive started to attack, there were no Thrall, only Acolytes, Knights, as well as a single Ogre. I slew a single acolyte and then picked up its Shredder. I opened fire on the rest of the Acolytes. Then there was only the two Knights and the Ogre left.
I slid behind one of the Knights as it’s blade swung at me. I stabbed it in the back of the head and then in the chest, and it fell to the floor silently as if it had dissipated. The sword also dissipated along with it. The second Knight was slaughtered by means of Hellfire, my Chitin covered P-90, this time the sword remained, just like how it had happened in the past.
I picked up the sword, grasping it with both of my trembling hands. The Ogre shook the ground as I approached, the shadow of the Darkblade was right behind it, just barely visible. I sliced off the Ogre’s legs and then mounted the beast before driving the Sword into its head.

“Alak Hûl” I said, drawing Hellfire from my satchel. The Darkblade screeched at me, his axe was drawn. He lumbered towards me, his axe then struck the ground with a sickening thud. I barely dodged the attack, I was limping my right leg was crippled by the shockwave, my left wrist was bleeding profusely.
I was on my last legs at that moment, this was not like the past at all, this was different, it was darker, I was weak yet I still had my Light. In that moment, I summoned all of the strength that I had, then a burst of Solar Light shown through the darkness of the night. I was wielding a Solar version of Hellfire, after all Cayde said that the Golden Gun would manifest to whatever its wielder wanted, as long as it was a gun.

I opened fire upon Alak Hûl, he turned around, his chest had a burning hole through its center. Yet he was still alive, normal Hive would die if that happened, I could tell that this was not at all Hive in any way. Alak Hûl was now faster, he sprinted at me, his eyes full of malice. He raised his axe, before it even hit the ground it was parried back by another Guardian, the Guardian did not have a name, he said nothing, nothing except that he was called Dredgen Truth.
I asked him why he saved me, he said nothing, he didn’t even tell me why he saved me. From now on, that man would forever remain a mystery to me. After the Nightmare of Alak Hûl was prematurely summoned by the Darkness on accident, my Light was stronger. I headed towards the base, Hellfire gripped in one hand. The sun shown over the mountains as the morning was starting.
A new day has dawned, a new Dredgen was forged from that affair, and his name is Dredgen, Dredgen Inquisition.
