So, I just watched myelin's new video, and I have a bit of theory about where we will stand in upcoming releases beyond this next season.
There will be three main angles to chose from:
To side with the vanguard and the traveler.
To side with the drifter and/or calus and the pyramid (what ever their name may be)in the dark.
Or to walk in the gray.
Now each of these will have relative story outcomes, where the missions might be the same but different things are said (think about skyrim's civil war), With players being pitted against one another in said story missions.
Patrol zones will be contested points where you may be safe in your territory's zones, but an enemy in others.
The light and dark will have their own subclasses, with the gray being able to mix and match abilities, but never harness the full power of a single side.
The fallen will side with the light and the vanguard in their majority.
The hive(under the control of Savathûn or Xivu Arath) and cabal(now under calus' guidance) Will follow the darkness.
The vex will remain relatively neutral, make gray guardians sort of lone wolves/ bounty hunters.
On the dark side, you will attempt to lay siege to the tower/traveller, and with the light you may lay siege to their stronghold (leviathan/ scarlett keep/ or a place yet unseen).
Any other theories? If I find ones with solid evidence or reasonable speculation i will repost in the main topic.
Edit1: Made clarifications.

The shows a fundamental misunderstanding of particular characters. The Drifter's master plan is profit as much as possible from Gambit and get the hell out of the solar system when the Darkness shows up. Calus does not care about the destruction of the universe, he simply wants to watch it happen and be granted the privilege to be the last. This attitude is likely the only reason he survived his encounter with the Darkness.
