As I walk the replacement guards are conversing on the scene of yesterday’s prison break. “Hey, Deputy, who would do something like this.” He suddenly blinks to avoid the camera flash from someone talking photos of evidence. “Go see for yourself in the records room if you want to know that badly,” I say hurriedly since I need to get to my post by the entrance to help out. Prison guards on all shifts have been quitting since the prison break. A temp-guard from the Sheriff’s Department sees me, jogs across the hall, and says to me “We have a lead on Stonewell.” He hands me a folder and I open it. “Lee wants you to follow this up personally since you brought him in the first time. Your friend is cleared for action on this one too.” “Thank you, I’ll get right on it,” I respond, already soaking in what was found on Stonewell. He was seen going to a building on the north east of the city by the docks. ——— “This is where they should be.” I tell Scintillate when we get to the building from the lead. “Let’s go,” Scintillate says as he starts walking to the building. We walk to the door and I break it down. There is no one inside. “I didn’t expect this,” I state. We enter and see a single open door. We step into the doorway and are immediately shot at by volleys of bullets. We hide on each side of the doorway and I see Scintillate start healing a hole in his hand. He was hit. I peak around the doorway and notice that one of the shooters is further behind than the others before I am forced back to cover. I motion to Scintillate to cause a distraction and he creates a holographic replica of himself that steps into the open. As they all shoot at the hologram I step out and have my revolver fly to stab the one in the back. When the revolver’s blade makes contact I am teleported to his location and wearing his clothes. The shooters start focusing on my now empty power armor as Scintillate’s hologram disappears. “Do you know how hard that is going to be to buff out.” I say to the shooters as I use my revolver to fan fire and shoot them all. After a few seconds Scintillate steps out and comes down the hall. “Let’s go,” I suggest to him as my weapons fly from my power armor to my hands and I holster them all. “You’re not bringing your armor?" Scintillate asks. "It will slow us down; he might be trying to leave," I respond as I move further down the hall. It leads to a single closed door. We open the door and sneak through and listen to Stonewell instructing the other escapees. "I want you to gun them down the moment they get in here. The backup plan will be ready soon.” “Too late,” I correct Stonewell as I step out of hiding with my revolver in hand. “Kill them!” Stonewell yells as he runs to the stairwell. His gang starts shooting at us and Scintillate calls out to me: “Go after him! I got these guys!” Scintillate takes his crossbow and shoots an explosive bolt on the ground between two of them causing them to fly in the air. I toss him my rifle just in case.
