Me and a few friends have noticed a incredible shift in power creep recently. Should this change and if so, how?

Tommorow, unless I for some reason get unusually busy, I am bringing in a lower level character. I mean low level but even if I am slain the attempt shall be fun. Maybe it could help start the decreasing of power.
