I didn't reply to the OP only to the subthread point by Ownz guy which is false.
For the point by the OP, most are dying because they're underlight or don't check what to do. The former will get better the latter less so....at least going by the numbers if people who blast the cryopod boss everytime.
It is a multiplayer game. Multiplayer game doesn’t mean it needs matchmaking or needs activities that require premade fireteams.

That doesn't make sense. In all certainly any multiplayer game by definition needs to work with Matchmaking and/or premade teams, otherwise there's no possible teams, it's not Multiplayer.

You do not need to have both matchmaking and required premade teams. Destiny is a multiplayer and has activities that require teams.

Edited by Artisan: 3/15/2020 9:31:04 PMWell you don't NEED to supply Matchmaking though you certainly need one or the other. But you're missing out of large percentage numbers of your player base if you choose not to provide it or alternative routes for those without premade teams. Players who feel they're cut out of the loop won't keep with the game, won't spend or support the game. Whether that's a smart or bad business move depends on whether the privileged players spend more than solo and premade teams combined. They may - no one has those statistics except perhaps Bungie.

This is a multiplayer game and backdrop of that there are activities and quests which require you to play with a team.

It doesn't need to be designed around solo players to the detriment of those who want to go in as a preset team. But equally they KNOW large percentages of folks do want that. The sensible solution is to make it win/win and whether you look at 95% of Seals, key weapon quests like Outbreak, Divinity, Whisper, Trials and it's loot, Raids and their loot, Dungeons and their loot, Clan rewards for doing nothing, Pinnacle rewards via Heroic to Master all out of the reaches of solo-play it's a WIN/LOSE scenario in these key areas. Those things compromise a lot more than 10% of the game - they are a sizeable chunk of Destiny2's development.

You can do the dungeon solo. Clans are easily joined and you can be a solo player and still in a clan. You can do most seals solo. Less than 10% of this games content requires a team. There’s stuff for solo players and there’s stuff for teams.

No you can't do most seals Solo: no to Flawless, Enlightened, Shadow, Blacksmith, Rivensbane, Curse breaker at minimum. Aside from past and current cheeses Outbreak is extremely tough to do solo, and Divinity can not be done. Whisper obviously can but for average players is extremely tough as it has an absence of scaling for one player and it could and should have. Same with Dungeons - they're not comparable - what is easy- medium for a preset fireteam to do is many, many times harder solo : there is no scaling. As I said Raids, Quests, many Seals, Dungeons, Trials and Heroic-Master levels are a significant part of development offering some key loot out of the reaches Solo-play. That could be better worked out but it's likely it's a trade-off, a deliberate Win/lose on the calculation that it benefits revenue that way.

That’s more than half the seals in the game. There’s content designed around team play. It’s a multiplayer game. More than 90% of the game doesn’t need a premade fire team. Stop whining about not being able to solo everything.
Scaling exists in the game. It’s called Delta scaling. At the moment Delta scaling is bugged in the whisper mission and makes players take 2% damage. If that’s how all scaling worked in the game, old content would have no replay able value.
Sorry dude no one is whining but you're being ignorant. Repeating a blatant falsehood that 90% of the game can be done solo does not remotely make it so. Raids, Quests, many Seals at least six, Dungeons, Trials and Heroic-Master levels is way, way more than 10% of content and especially of importance in Destiny 2. These are just facts.

You can solo nightfalls, dungeons, whisper, outbreak and more then half of the seals in the game. Very few activities require a team. It’s a multiplayer game. It’s to be expected that you would need other people for a few activities.

No, not even close. ================
