matchmaking for all modes isn't going to improve anything, that topic has been debated a to death. too many people who have no knowledge of the game, no desire to learn, and only are a deadweight around the necks of those matched with will cause more upheaval than no matchmaking. it would also in turn cause the already low difficulty of the game to become playable with both eyes closed.
but yes there is lots of room for improvement, as far as players go they should put in some effort to do what they claim they want to do, as no matchmaking doesn't stop all of the people who do those activities every week.

LOL. No, you’re right lack of mm doesn’t stop the people who run Raids from running Raids. Excellent point. It’s just the primary reason why people who don’t run Raids don’t run Raids. If Bungie wants people to run Raids in larger numbers that has to be addressed.

if matchmaking is the "reason" you've found the excuse. it only prevents people who aren't willing to put in the actual effort to do it, ergo they never really wanted to do it. just complain.

Its stops enough of the players so they dont play anymore.

perhaps you misread. for those who do it every week matchmaking never once stopped them. a person who is stopped by no matchmaking never wanted to do it in the first place or they would put in a small amount of effort to do so.
