Love them like it’s their last day every day
Love them the way they’d love you
Love them through the fun
Love them through the pain
Hold on to those you love
Even though it may hurt through the night
Hold on to those you love
Because they may not see morning light
Show them how much you care
Show them how much you love them
Show them what they mean to you
Show them how far you are willing to go
Hold on to those you love
Because they would do the same
Hold on to those you love
Because it could be the last day you can
Through thick and thin
Through trial and error
Know in your heart
I’ll always be there
I love you
To my dog, Sydney. I don’t know where you are now, but I’d like to imagine you’re in a better place. You deserved so much more than I gave you, and if I could turn back time I would make sure you got it all. Its odd, writing out a poem to a pet who probably won’t be a able to read it. But that’s okay. It’s the thought that counts right? I love you girl. I’ll see you again, one day.
Hey, hey, hey, hey Ooh woh Won't you come see about me? I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby Tell me your troubles and doubts Giving me everything inside and out and Love's strange so real in the dark Think of the tender things that we were working on Slow change may pull us apart When the light gets into your heart, baby Don't you, forget about me Don't, don't, don't, don't Don't you, forget about me Will you stand above me? Look my way, never love me Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling Down, down, down Will you recognize me? Call my name or walk on by Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling Down, down, down, down Hey, hey, hey, hey Ooh woh Don't you try and pretend It's my feeling we'll win in the end I won't harm you or touch your defenses Vanity and security Don't you forget about me I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby Going to take you apart I'll put us back together at heart, baby Don't you, forget about me Don't, don't, don't, don't Don't you, forget about me As you walk on by Will you call my name? As you walk on by Will you call my name? When you walk away Or will you walk away? Will you walk on by? Come on, call my name Will you call my name? I say (Lala la la lala la la) Will you call my name? As you walk on by
I'm very sorry about that, Veggie. Writing a poem is a great way to show how much you love your dog. I did that for mine as well, actually. It's a good catharsis. It's very nice poem.

I’m sorry, it’s been a year since I lost my dog and it still hurts. I know exactly how you feel.
