Today, March 25th, 3019, in the heart of Mt Doom Frodo and Gollum fought over the Ring while the rest of the Fellowship fought at the Black Gate. Today the Ring fell into the fires from whence it came, and was destroyed.
I find it awesome that Tolkien was so organized that many of the events of the book can be placed on direct days of the calendar.

Edited by minifig13: 3/26/2020 5:54:31 AMPart of Tolkien's inspiration was the fact that England had no mythology like the Greeks or Romans. Also Tolkien and C.S. Lewis had a crossover event in the works. Unfortunately one of them passed before much progress was made.
