Dear Bungie,
In destiny 1 we had the pvp end game Trials of Osiris, and it was a blast just to hop on every weekend and just play with friends. Even if you didn't win you had the bounties to give you some type of loot. Not to mention you didn't have to be at the hard cap power level to compete. This destiny 1 version of trials had a lot going for it, cool armor and an incentive to go flawless, like adept weapons and later on ornaments for the armor that made it glow. There was a reason to go flawless. Then when trials of the nine came around in destiny 2 with the two primary meta it was not well perceived. But what I got out of it loot wise was around the same as destiny 1 trials. The meta at the time was just not favored by most people even myself. But the loot we got such as: ornaments, choosing the weapons and armor we got after 9 wins, and not to mention at least we got shaders. Then now we have the Walmart budget edition of trials in destiny 2, in what I like to call "Season of the Snooze", this version of trials feels rushed and not even rewarding to high skilled players, let alone the casual players. As a top 1% I feel no reason to go flawless, the only reason I keep playing is to keep my friends who aren't as skilled at the game from leaving this game, which at one point was arguably the best shooter looter to date. but with all the hackers on pc, and error codes it just isn't fun. I and many others would agree a pay wall would be amazing. You could still have things like free weekends for people to try out the game. But with no pay wall, hackers are breeding like rabbits. Bungie if this is all due to a lack of communication of over use of power, just know fixing simple things like even a small pay wall will not make the player base go down. Do this for the players, add some real loot for trials, make an amazing raid like Wrath of the Machine from destiny 1 or Last Wish. Just for your own good and the player base give us what we were here for three too four years ago grinding at.
Sincerely,
A fellow guardian

Agreed. I want Trials of the Nine back.
-
I tried trials, me and my friends bare pretty good at pvp but in no way top 1 percent. It was horrible. Everyone had all meta weapons, it was a total sweat fest. It was basically hiding in our side of the map dodging hardlight then to get aped by someone that snuck around, or to get killed off by hardlight bounce or some other bullcrap. It was not fun, idk if this is how it was in d1 or not, but it was not fun at all. From gameplay it looked less sweaty than I'm d2, but maybe it was idk.
-
Trials of the nine was convoluted bull crap. It was terrible.
-
You must be mistaken. Bungie took their time to perfect this iteration, pulling from two previous versions of experience to create this pinnacle PVP endgame that will headline twitch and esports for years to come.
-
The sooner Trials dies the better.

ToO Scout Rocket Shotgun Sniper Auto Fusion TotN Auto Pulse Scout Handcannon Shotgun Sniper SMG Sidearm You also got to pick which weapon you wanted in nine.

Edited by THA_3rd_GUY: 4/7/2020 6:03:09 PMYup. This Season makes Curse of Osiris look like Half Life.

This past week didn’t get rewards for 3, 5 and 7. On top of that I couldn’t turn in tokens......

Bungie made the mistake of betting on Trials to carry this season. They should learn the lesson and not doubling down on it. Repair Trials sure. But stop making it your main focus. This is D2 not D1. The game is not lacking activities and the population is different.
-
here's the thing people dont think about, trials of the nine was good! but it was double primary, and that was horrible. if trials of the nine had special weapons, i think it would have never been taken out of the game.
-
It worked well on some levels, but 4v4 countdown in that awful vanilla PVP sandbox really made it a bad experience. Unless teamshotting down hallways was your thing.

Edited by Smough: 4/7/2020 4:36:18 PMTrials of the nine was ruined because of 4v4 and the search and destroy gamemode, as well the way worked in year 1.

“Paragraphs” While I didn’t play much of trials of the nine, I love the look and feel of the weapons and armour sets from it. It’s not that I don’t like the trials of Osiris gear, it’s just that there was multiple weapons of the same weapon type. 3 scouts, 2 pulses, 2 autos etc. A lot more gear and weapons to obtain. With multiple ways to obtain. The current system to obtaining new gear from the current trials is meh and does not feel very rewarding. At least offer some measure of picking what you might want. Choose a weapon and you pick one from a maximum of three random weapons. Also armour coming with actual good rolls (60+) would be nice as well.

Trials of the Nine was great compared to what we have now. Sure, team shooting mida users made it painful, but you could just play and get loot that actually looked good. Imo the trials of the nine gear looks better than the trials of osiris gear. That excludes yr3 trials armor in D1.
-
I personally liked TotN more.
-
It’s because of weekly Tokens. It literally promotes cannibalism.
-
D1 trials was light enabled, so yeah, you had to be on the high end of the hard cap to compete.
-
How sad is it that things have only went down hill since D1?
-
Purpose is still one of the best feeling, looking, and sounding scout rifles in d2 to me.
-
Very interesting post. We hear your feedback loud and clear so starting from next season we will replace trials of osiris with trials of the nine. Let us know what other features from D2 vanilla you also want to come back. -Cosmooobot699

They messed up. Good news it’s a fairly easy fix around loot,bounties,matchmaking.......... The sandbox is ok...average ok but ok so maybe they will actually sort it. All the evidence points to them not sorting it... My opinion anyway.
-
This is Destiny 2 it needs to add it's own version which will fail for a year at least. Then they will revamp it to be like Destiny 1's version and you'll have waited years and paid for a new game+DLC just to get a Destiny 1 feature that was taken from you.

Edited by mikeyrox1234: 4/7/2020 6:25:59 AMThe only issue I see with Trials of Osiris the how its rewards are set up/given out and what the rewards are. Edit: Obviously cheaters on PC as well😅

Paragraphs had an even better run.
