How to Become an Unstoppable Champion in PvE (I love swords!)

I have never used such a defensive/aggressive Warlock build in my entire Destiny experience. This build that I'm about to share is insanely good for PvE. When you use this, you are a juggernaut, an unstoppable force, a hungry monster, a Leeroy Jenkins that's actually good. You are... A sword ape. Yes, that's what this is all about. Except that you're really, REALLY hard to kill while you are busy slaughtering that Vex army. So what's the concept? Lots of damage resistance and healing while being extremely aggressive to your enemies. This build utilizes Charged with Light mods and lots of sword-related things. Here's what you need for this build to work: *- As a Warlock, you need the Devour ability. That is the class that I originally designed this build for. If you're a Titan, Stronghold should work nicely for blocking and healing. If you're a Hunter, you might want to use Wormhusk Crown. - A masterworked sword. You will be using the Orbs that generate from your sword multikills. - A Taking Charge mod. Orbs from your sword and teammates will grant Charged with Light, which is necessary for one other mod. Your Orbs will usually spawn right on you, making it easy to charge up. You can also continue to collect Orbs even if your Super is already charged up. *- A Protective Light mod. You'll want this with Taking Charge. You will take significantly reduced damage for a short time when an enemy breaks your shields while you are Charged with Light, consuming ALL stacks. - You'll want the Stacks on Stacks mod. Your Orbs will grant you two stacks of Charged with Light instead of one at a time. *- A Striking Light mod. While you are Charged with Light, any sword or melee kills generate an Orb for ALLIES ONLY, consuming one stack. That's not the main reason why you'll want this mod. You'll want to use it for the Uncatchable perk it can grant, which reduces damage you take from enemies while sprinting. Stacks on Stacks is necessary due to this mod using stacks you might want to keep for yourself. - If you are not using an exotic piece of armor, you might want to also use a Charged Up mod, which increases the stack limit of Charged with Light to 3. - You might want Minor Resist and Major Resist on your armor. From my experience, other resisting mods are not necessary. - Two Sword Ammo Finder mods, because apparently two is better than one, granting extra ammo bricks. Tested it and that seems to be the case. - One or two Enhanced Sword Scavenger mods from your Artifact. Yes, they stack. Sword Ammo Finder bricks can give almost 30 ammo with two of these Scavenger mods on. It's ridiculous. *- A Passive Guard mod. This is VERY important. If you want to be a tank with a sword, you need this. It significantly reduces all damage from enemies near you while you are holding your sword. This also stacks with regular blocking, which reduces a ton of damage. This mod's effect range is at a very comfortable distance in my opinion. *- And you'll want either a Better Already mod or Recuperation mod, which helps you recover health when you pick up Orbs. Their utility with this build is different, but you can only use one of them at a time, so it's up to you to figure out which one works better for you. I use Better Already because it's just convenient for my armor and it immediately starts recovering my shields, which even if the shields just immediately break, if I'm Charged with Light from that Orb still, then it turns into extra damage resistance with Protective Light just like that. That's a lot of words, but it's also a lot going good for you with the build too. What you'll want to do with this build is rush the enemy like crazy and kill everything as fast as possible with light swings and save the heavy swings as finishing blows for tanky enemies. In most normal situations, you will survive pretty well. In the Nightfall Ordeal this week, Vex Goblins will probably give Hunters and Titans using this build trouble because they spawn damage-dealing Arc pools when they die, meaning that you will have to find ways to recover. As a Warlock with Devour though, as long as there's a Goblin to kill, those Arc pools just don't matter. You will tank through it all and heal a lot on those kills. With all of the damage resistance, you might also find it pretty easy to deal with bosses and some Champions head-on without Champion mods if you play it smart. Don't worry too much about ammo because you'll get enough of it to use your sword like a primary weapon. In fact, feel free to use double special weapons too if you don't need any Champion mods from your Artifact. Now what is this build not good against? Exploding enemies and ranged enemies. Devour and Passive Guard sometimes will not heal or save you from exploding enemies and most of your damage resistance from Passive Guard will be lost against a sniper. Those are two of your biggest threats besides Phalanx shields and trains. This build also does not work in PvP. Almost all of it will do you no good there. That's basically the build. Wake your inner ape. And if you do, congratulations, you are now playing a beat 'em up instead of a shooter. Have fun, Guardians!
