This post will feature heavy spoilers regarding this weeks bunker introduction; this is your final warning, I recommend viewing what it has to offer before going further into this post. Final warning.
So, this week reveals two heavy lore implications;
The first, Rasputin is now seen as an equal by Zavala. Some might argue that this isn't a big thing, but seeing as Zavala basically commands the City and Guardians, and for the longest time has seen Rasputin as nothing more than a weapon, and he has now changed his mind based on the fact that he now has a further understanding on how Rasputin works; deeming him worthy as an equal.
Obviously a further question must be asked, does Rasputin see us the same way? but that's for another day.
Secondly, and arguably more importantly from a lore standpoint; The Pyramids, are close, and they're surrounding us. coming in from multiple angles. The dialogue played from the Collapse, of officials recording the amount of people they have, not just on the Archology but also on a colony ship they mentioned, gives us further insight into the destructive path of the Pyramids back 800yrs ago (time = rough estimate).
Point is; they are so much more closer than any of us thought. And whilst the possibility of it being from pre-collapse is possible; I think this is now (if you look at the maps in each bunker there are 2 triangles that glow red). And they're on their way.
We will stop the almighty right before it hits. It will go into orbit around mars. The traveler will use its light to power the almightys main weapon to destroy the darkness. It will sacrifice itself this time and we will carry the light within from then on.
-
I just hope we kill Savathun and finish off most of the Hive (Xivu Arath, Quira, etc.) before we deal with The Pyramids.
-
Whats even more interesting? The Space Magic that makes an evil burnt tetrahedron move from the edge of the galaxy to our location. That is some serious distance!
-
I love destiny lore, I hate the way we have to find out about these things. So much good lore locked behind eververse items and other items that the game provides. At least with forsaken we got to actually experience the lore which is always nice

Edited by Grays_KS27: 4/9/2020 6:39:30 PMJust pitching in here, big spoilers for anyone who didn’t read the narrative previews/articles that were released at the beginning of this season.
In the Legacy 2 narrative preview released just before this season began Ana made a jump to Uranus but was pulled off course by irregular gravitational waves. She ended up just beyond the heliopause (just outside the solar system), where gravitational waves continued to screw with the NLS Drive and unseen things moved in the black of space. Almost exactly the same as when the Exodus Green encountered a Pyramid ship during the Collapse. So it’s my opinion that this was when Bungie actually revealed that the Pyramid Fleet is lurking outside the solar system, and the Pyramids on Rasputin’s map are more like icing on the cake. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/48825 On top of that, there’s the Osiris narrative preview with that anomaly at the edge of the solar system that Rasputin sent Osiris to, where he entered and experienced some…weird stuff. The references to the Deep and the Maw and the whole general anomaly also set off Pyramid/Darkness alarms in my head. Your thoughts?
No offense but who cares about any of this. They're just gonna make us do bounties. That's it. No more, no less. Bounties. Bounties. and...
Bounties.
Repent. The End is Nigh. ... I think we all know how this will end. Generically. Like every other story that has a bad guy and good guy, then the bad guy is misunderstood and the good guy isnt really all that good etc etc.

So Osiris and Z are at odds now? O seems like he hates Rasputin. Splain this to me.

That’s cool. If only all this would be in actual gameplay/cutscenes instead of meaningless lore
-
It’s certainly interesting that the Pyramid ships are coming from multiple angles. Almost like they were scattered by the last act of the Traveler before it went dormant, hmm?

So this was something that recently occurred to me after reading some more cynic views on letting the Almighty hit Earth. We know Rasputin doesn't trust the Traveler, but if he does actually fail to stop the Almighty then do you think the Traveler will help? Say the Traveler either strengthens Rasputin's weapons or uses its own strength to stop the Almighty (perhaps not even destroying it). Such an action would have multiple consequences: Rasputin recognizes that the Traveler is still willing to help humanity, even if he assumes it's out of self-preservation rather than benevolence. If he thinks it's genuine though then maybe he'll be more open about establishing a connection with Guardians. This does bring a counter point that Rasputin realizes that he's failed to save humanity twice with his own power. The idea of the Traveler helping him would be either a kick to his ego or a boost to it depending on how things play out. This also works the other way, specifically with Zavala. The Io bunker talk made him realize that Rasputin was also a victim of the Collapse and, despite his power, he still failed to protect humanity. He's willing to sympathize and work with the Warmind at least until the Almighty is dealt with. If the Traveler is willing to directly aid him though then that means that Rasputin is a trustworthy power that we will need for the final fight. Zavala has no choice but to put the past behind them. This could also be uplifting for him because he finally has something positive to look forward to ever since the Red War and Forsaken. This is more dependent on the weeks to follow. So we know the Pyramid ships are just outside of our solar system and I'd like to believe that they're going to stay there and study how we take care of the Almighty. They may draw closer anyways as we continue to arm Rasputin, but I like the idea of them staying back until we prove that we can save ourselves. After all, if the Almighty hits then there's no point in heading to Earth unless the Traveler survives. If for some reason the Traveler gets involved though, should this hasten the Pyramid's voyage to Earth? If the Traveler is willing to directly intervene, it seems like all the more proof that humanity still needs to be "salvaged" since they ultimately can't defend themselves without immense paracausal interference. While I'm betting none of this would ultimately play out, it's a nice idea to speculate. If there's anything in the lore that goes against this though then this can be disregarded.

Lol you can always tell in the comments whether a lore post stays under lore or it goes into the trending page
-
What are the implications? My guess is just the start to another story that won't ever wrap up.
-
What implications?
-
Here is a huge spoiler: 6 weeks = 3 Bunkers
-
I'm calling it now. There will be a second collapse either at the end of D2 or the start of D3.
-
1. The fact that Zavala genuinely believes any one of us has a chance against what’s coming makes me giggle. 2. As if we needed a deadweight commander of deadweight to tell a WARMIND that they’re equal. Rasputin could kick his blue ass off the wall any time he wants. You’re not equal. You were never high enough above Rasputin to now deem Rasputin worthy of being a “Guardian”. You’re nothing. 3. That Arcology broadcast was from the first Collapse. It would make no sense that it would be from right now. Because that would mean the Pyramids are by Titan. Not outside the System like Rasputin’s multiple maps show.
-
Beat me to posting by a minute....just posted something talking ‘bout the Pyramids too. Not as detailed though as your post, more......simple.
-
While that's an active fleet, we've also had on inside the moon this whole time. Did Osiris also see them?
-
They've got to be close considering that they have been communicating with us through visions and the artifact.
-
Bungie: Did we remind everyone that the Pyramids are coming? Cool. Give it another four or five months and we'll remind them again. Did we mention that the Pyramid ships are coming?
-
Quick question: When did Rasputin stop being Destiny's equivalent to a Contender-class AI and suddenly become something less-than-equal to Commander Smurf, maker of rash, shitty plans?
-
This is turning out to be quite interesting, can’t wait
-
The Grafik rasputin showed was from the collapse not from now . Hence the old audio .. the ships are further away
-
The pyramid ships are much more interesting to me then the cabal story arc, is it bad that I don't really care wether the almighty destroys the earth? Thus far its felt like filler material and lacking story depth & substance , maybe this will help.
