It is by far the most efficient strategy to level your character. If the game had a more efficient leveling system built into it's more legitimate systems we would be utilizing that. Many other games have leveling systems that put you close to end game levels at the end of story content. So you don't have to work as hard. This game makes you play hours upon hours, days upon weeks even, to get to end game levels. And it makes you play content we've already been playing up to this point.
TLDR: If you Make a better leveling experience, you will get more players who want to engage with it And not *want* to find the exploits.
-
Traditional systems have you leveled up by the end of the story or campaign. Except Bungie copy/pastes “content” obelisks/bunkers/umbral system because they don’t have real content because they are working on other games. Then they show pictures and a development plan every 2 years apart and sheep worship them

New players start at 750 so anyone complaining about it is just dumb as long as you are lower than 700 it effects no one.

40 hour a week job. Still got to the 1040s without AFK farming. People are doing the AFK farming because they want to skip the grind and/or don't have the time to do the grind. Luckily for me I had the spare time to do the grind this week and complete the new dungeon once.
-
The leveling system sucks and tired of doing it every 3 months.
-
Because nobody wants to do the same public events and strikes for whats nearlly five years now. Gaining light level is not even content to begin with !
-
There is no system that would be more efficient than an AFK method without you being able to hit max lvl within an hour of play. The issue is not how efficient it is. There will always be people who grind out the most efficient lvling method. The larger issue is something that won’t have a remedy until Sept. There isn’t enough new content for you to play. In stead of replaying the same old content we’ve had for a year or more, people afk farm so they can be max level for Trials and the dungeon.

Honestly I disagree, during the day I still play the game like normal but afk farm at night and it just makes it feel like I'm getting more of a reward. For a casual player this shit is perfect. I can get jow the bouty grind gets tedious af after a while tho.
-
People will find exploits and use them regardless, but you are completely right their leveling experience is completely garbage it prays on addiction and when you break it you are will be free.
-
People do it bc it's there. Simple answer.

AFK farming is great when you have a fulltime job and your a fulltime Dad and you play 4 to 5 hrs a day during the week inbetween. All of you crying about this go play fortnite with that Ninja guy. Bungie bravo!!! BRA-FKG-O!!!
-
It hasn't even been a full week yet you lazy prick. This isn't other games. Go play THOSE if you're looking for a leveling system that lazy people can utilize. There's no defense for this type of trash going on.
-
Translation: I don't wanna earn my place. I'm entitled to it. You think it's okay for anyone who's done the grind properly to be out done by people doing nothing? Damn that's some wonderful logic. Okay now that's out of my system. There is in fact a problem with levelling at the moment. I already said it a while back. Bungie need to link seasonal content better. Or at the very least. Give you a surge bounty if you take 3 months + off (each season is 3 months). So at least then you can do the older content you're viable for and then you can go headfirst into the new content. The Bounty should be set to give you gear at a reasonable level. Say 10 below the latest Powerful Cap. You're not that far behind and playing catch up doesn't take as long.

I can't. It will put me back in orbit after the forge, and not start a new match. So it is -blam!-ing unfair!! I call it CHEATING!!!!! THIS GAME IS GETTING MORE AND MORE STUPID!
-
The players who afk farm, are scum. Period. Don't spin it as if the game had X or Y, you wouldn't. Just admit you are that player that would exploit for an advantage and move on. In fact, why even bother coming here to make yourself feel better about wasting other people's time who might be trying to forge weapons in the....forge? I mean it is weak to afk farm, but then to come to the forums and try to justify it because you feel bad? Man that is another level of weaksauce.
-
You’re not wrong.
-
Nice... A new season, and people are AFKing the game. Guess this season blows too, not going to reinstall.
-
At the end of the story you should be easily, 80-85% to the point in which powerful no longer help and you need to do pinnacles.
-
All the haters commenting! Like you have not even tried it..... I'm sure tomorrow it will be patched. So cheer f**king up 🤣
-
In my opinion I don’t mind grinding for power but it’s been the same grind for two years now, it’s gotten quite stale
-
They could just do targetted events like strikes, crucible, forge, etc. On different days drop extra light gear. Then atleast we have varied targetted ways to bump our light faster and play the game properly. I just dont feel right sitting afk to farm engrams, its legit put me off the season because ill never catch up to the light level people are on quickly haha
-
It is how it is to keep no lifers from eating the game in a week, but it doesn't stop them anyways, and it hurts everybody else. People want to play the new content and I don't blame them, everyone is tired of the mundane 50 power grind every season. AFK farming highlighs again the big issue that this games leveling system sucks, and it needs to be changed or a major overhaul
-
I agree. Why not have an activity you can play to power grind while not being limited to daily and weekly objectives? Also I should be able to power grind in PvP and PvE at a faster pace. Let me play how I want without having to get on destiny just to grind.
-
Four Forges just now in a row with AFK, then I stopped and turned Destiny off for today, again. There's something wrong with the game now days. So did Bungie just give up?
-
This person speaks the truth. Most players want to enjoy the new seasonal content, not grind 20-30 power levels with just old content first. This is NOT common in games like this. I started playing final fantasy 14 the mmo. Its patch content (like a season) provides a story quest that brings players just under the gear score needed for the new raid. Players are not expected to grind old content, they get right to the new stuff.
