It is by far the most efficient strategy to level your character. If the game had a more efficient leveling system built into it's more legitimate systems we would be utilizing that. Many other games have leveling systems that put you close to end game levels at the end of story content. So you don't have to work as hard. This game makes you play hours upon hours, days upon weeks even, to get to end game levels. And it makes you play content we've already been playing up to this point.
TLDR: If you Make a better leveling experience, you will get more players who want to engage with it And not *want* to find the exploits.

The game has always desperately needed variance in both the open world areas and the activities that we are meant to replay so much. Strikes should be some kind of procedural mission that utilizes the whole planet as potentially usable areas and in a way that is relevant to the current season/what is going on in the universe currently. This whole thing where we just replay what equates to increasingly challenging story missions from literally years ago is just not a good system in my opinion. If you make the content more interesting and in a way in which it isn’t exactly the same in every way every time it’s played people will be less likely to use exploits to speed up the process. Even without the exploit, I have done like 10 nightmare hunts, an ordeal, and a gambit match and I haven’t gotten any altered element. I now have 7 umbrals that I can’t focus. The forge farm is looking good even for just being able to focus the engrams in general at this point.
