Leveling is just enough of an obstacle that people do not want to play this game anymore. The game has become that boring...
Bungie is allowing this because it's the only way they can hold onto a good chunk of the player base. Sure they will fix it but not until everyone has had enough time to rank up.

I make an effort to get the materials to unlock everything and then it's time for a new season. Maybe I should just grind for materials this summer but my luck Bungie will change everything in Sept?
