Warframe? That's how it works. Battlefront 2, Battlefield....you can bypass grind for money.

Warframe is a totally free to play game. Destiny 2 still asks you to pay for expansions and seasons. If Bungie decided to implement that system and give me the expansions and seasons for free then maybe I would be more inclined to tolerate it. Are you really going to use EA as an example? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was just giving examples of games that use the system that people say wouldn't work. It does work. I don't support Bungie selling guns at all.

  • Warframe works because its completely free to play. EA is unanimously hated, but there will always be people dumb enough to pay out for that kind of stuff tbh.

  • We may dislike EA but they are still selling games and making millions. There are plenty of games that sell gear in game and have paid dlc. Anyone who says games fail that do it are wrong.

EA has a following of sheep that keep buying up the sports games that are the same every year and will continue to make bank on those games. It's sad to see the human race is that dumb that there is people that payout lots of money for those EA games. Well they may be successful but are those games usually good?
lol no.
• A game being good is a matter of opinion. CSGO is one of the most popular games in the world and you can buy guns to use for one match. CoD is another game that sells guns at times, the best gun in one of its games was cash only. Just because you don't want it to work doesn't mean it doesn't. If you think people are dumb for spending money how they want to that's a you issue. You should really worry about your own finances.

CSGO doesn't use real money to buy the guns tho?????????????????????? That in-game money is obtained from kills and objectives during the match and that money is only for that match. Call of Duty omegalul. Well I think those people are dumb and they can continue to be dumb by financing shitty low effort games.

  • Doesn't CSGO sell an item that turns into something at random in game? I don't remember what it was called. Laugh at CoD all you want, it's almost always the number 1 selling game every year. You think they're dumb for spending their money how they see fit? It's still irrelevant to the original discussion, there are a lot of games that sell weapons in game that make a whole lot of money. The system may and should be shunned but it would still make money. If Bungie sold a original Ghally for 20 bucks they would make a fortune, people would -blam!- but the game would continue.

  • Are you talking about the loot boxes in CSGO that give weapon skins? Not actual weapons? Even Gjallarhorn maybe the game would continue but I doubt a lot of people would actually buy it for $20 considering that is the price of 2 seasons and almost half the price of Beyond Light.

  • Not sure what I thought it was, I'm probably wrong. Maybe 20 might be steep for some but the weapon would sell very well, especially if that was the only way to get it. Not that I like the idea, I think game change microtransactions are terrible but unfortunately do work. There will be plenty of people buying transmog instead of playing for it when Bungie introduces the system.

  • I'll be long gone before then unless Bungie makes some sweeping changes to the game with sunsetting. I ain't going to play a supposed MMORPG with no real permanent player progression.

No mmo has permanent progression, anytime there is a content update the gear is left behind and the grind for levels starts again.

  • Skill Trees, faction ranking bonuses, Specialisations. If you consider Runescape an MMO then all your skills are permanent progression for your character. Now when I mean "permanent progression" I don't mean it never changes or gets expanded with expansions and what not, but the majority of what you have in there will always be with your character for the remainder of the games life cycle like abilities and skills. Destiny will have none of that once sunsetting goes in since all the permanent player progression was on the gear you collect with there being very little player progression beyond that. "Power Level" I do not consider a 'real' permanent player progression system as it doesn't have a long term benefit for your character and serves as little more than a gate to content. All my guns? Sunsetted. All my armour? Sunsetted. All my seasonal mods? Sunsetted. My Artifact mods and progress? Sunsetted. Why would I invest time in an MMORG game that has no permanent progression for my character making any 'progress' I do make redundant within a year?

  • Our skills are permanent. Our skills are not tied to the guns. In those games when level is increased the gear becomes obsolete and you level more skills to build your character so you get strong enough to conquer the new difficult content. Sounds the same to me. Next dlc Destiny gets new skills. It is a seasonal artifact, that takes like 2 weeks to max out. I don't think any other game let's you move gear with you, except Division 1. The seasonal reset and light increase gives people something to do, the gear retirement gives people a reason to chase and use new gear. I like playing the game but I also like having objectives, these resets add more reasons to play longer.

  • Except in Destiny 2 the skills are less like something you can customise and are just like here's 3 choices and thats about it... THAT IS -blam!-ING LAUGHABLE FOR A SUPPOSED MMORPG! The thing about those other loot games is that not all the players progression is placed on gear and retiring gear in Destiny is beyond stupid just to replace it with the exact same items. Power grinding is crap and boring and is not fun to do, I don't settle for just "something to do". The resets are literally just resetting any progress you make just to make you get back to where you were previously just to reset it again... whats the fecking point? Luke really likes WoW but you know what? Weapons in WoW aren't the actual thing that kills the enemy its your actual abilities that do. And thing in MMORPG is they add more skills on top of what you already have while Destiny doesn't have that. I use new gear if I like its look and perk setup I don't care if its better or not. For armour I chase it if it looks good if it looks like shit I ain't gonna get it.

  • That's cool. The best thing for you to do is find another game. There will never be a game that can keep you busy in PvE without adding grind. Some of those MMOs only get content yearly or even longer. Grind is "something to do".

There is a difference though. I really like grinding I actually un-ironically like doing a bounty grind, the issues with the bounty grind is the lack of QoL updates to grab these bounties and making you have to go around to every place to collect them. The general grind is terrible as its monotonously boring and the reward for actually 'grinding' is not worth the effort put in the first place. Grind is only as good as the reward, Bungie can't keep recycling the same loot over and over and put a grind on those items and expecting people to like it. The pinnacles were a good grind as the reward for completing the associated quest was a unique item with unique abilities. Power level grinding serves no purpose other than to inflate the time you put in just to play the very little amount of actual new content. There is a difference between a good grind and a bad grind. Bad Grind: * Annoying to actually grind with hurdles like picking up bounties from different vendors in different places. * Reward is not worth the effort put into actually getting the end reward. * Makes you replay older content that you have already played before instead of the newest content. Good Grind: * No annoying hurdles that slow progress. * Reward is well thought out and the time put in for the reward is justified. * Makes you play the newest content or at the very least some of the new content with a dash of re-playable activities.
