Eververse already does this with past armor ornaments.
buying the weapon would unlock it as a world drop too.
Realistically, this is a cosmetic thing because what drops is how the weapon looks, not necessarily the rolls.

Ornaments are completely cosmetic. So now you are saying we have to pay to be able to even obtain loot? Jesus christ please never decide to actually develop a game you are making my brain cells deteriorate. Also, I guess weapon stats don't exist lmao.

After it goes away, yes. We should be able to purchase the skin of a weapon after it's retired.

What do you mean? Wouldn't it have to be physically the same base model? bit pointless to waste time on a system that won't be able to be utilised much. Also, it would minor-ly effect crucible with the confusion of what weapon someone is carrying. Also how would weapon skins have anything to do with carries / recoveries as you were going on about earlier?

I'm saying buying weapon doesnt give you any advantage. It'll still have all it's old perks. for your first purchase which then unlocks it to be a world drop. It's like buying silver for Eververse engrams of we still could, break down whatever into legendary shard then turning I. those shard to Rahool for an engram, basically giving us the ability to literally buy weapons. only this time, we can select which weapon we wanted to buy, which would be at the relevant years power cap, so you can't just buy weapons to play end game content for the new year. There are 2 types of games at play here. Whether you're keeping up with the newest DLC or if you're playing for free and are just after certain looks. That's all cosmetics ste anyway.

Edited by xbroggiex: 6/24/2020 5:29:09 PMSo you buy it just for you to possibly have to grind for the weapon anyway? I have to pay for the privilege to grind for a singular weapon? Again, its a terrible idea. Buying a weapon is literally not cosmetic in anyway. WEAPON STATS EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW DO YOU FORGET THIS?!?!?!? Being able to purchase a weapon no matter would still be Bungie effectively allowing you to purchase an advantage in the game over other players. If it was a weapon skin which would be weird to implement since it would only work on select weapons and it would only be fine if people who already have earned the weapon get the skin for free. Also, if it was a weapon skin it wouldn't effect paid carries / recoveries in anyway. If you began to actually sell those weapons then you are just screwing over the actual players who are playing your game. You earned Spare Rations by grinding Reckoning? Too bad -blam!-o this dude paid us $20 for Spare Rations suck one. In that instance if you were paying for a carry or recovery the time would still need to be put into the game to grind for a particular weapon while Bungie directly selling it would be an insult to those who actually earned the item.
