There is a difference though.
I really like grinding I actually un-ironically like doing a bounty grind, the issues with the bounty grind is the lack of QoL updates to grab these bounties and making you have to go around to every place to collect them.
The general grind is terrible as its monotonously boring and the reward for actually 'grinding' is not worth the effort put in the first place. Grind is only as good as the reward, Bungie can't keep recycling the same loot over and over and put a grind on those items and expecting people to like it.
The pinnacles were a good grind as the reward for completing the associated quest was a unique item with unique abilities.
Power level grinding serves no purpose other than to inflate the time you put in just to play the very little amount of actual new content.
There is a difference between a good grind and a bad grind.
Bad Grind:
* Annoying to actually grind with hurdles like picking up bounties from different vendors in different places.
* Reward is not worth the effort put into actually getting the end reward.
* Makes you replay older content that you have already played before instead of the newest content.
Good Grind:
* No annoying hurdles that slow progress.
* Reward is well thought out and the time put in for the reward is justified.
* Makes you play the newest content or at the very least some of the new content with a dash of re-playable activities.
