Pinnacle drops RNG is badly out of control
Secondary after secondary after secondary drop, then two titan marks in a row from dungeons and then more and more secondaries, you seriously need to fix that Bungie its out of control and each season its just getting worse
This week I got 6 secondary weapon pinnacle drops! Does that sound like RNG to you? And two Titan Marks in a row but every other armor piece is two points lower. This is so much BS
Edit- and my last but not least pinnacle (crucible) was.... drumrolls drumrolls... Another secondary weapon.. honestly I dunno why I keep trying, this is worthless

Yeah. I’m done chasing pinnacles this season. You are better off just focusing on bounties to level up your character.

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 7/17/2020 1:13:09 AMThe bigger issue isn’t the +1/+2 system etc It’s the lack of record/recognition of the last ‘pinnacle’ reward PATHWAY Bungie could easily implement a system that ties a specific Armour/Weapon Pinnacle to a [i]Pinnacle Task [/i] Changing up every weekly reset •PINNACLE TASK example 3x Vanguard Strikes = +1 Heavy 3x Gambit Matches = +1 Class Item 4x Crucible Playlist = +1 Arms 1x 100k Nightfall = +2 Primary Weapon 1x Grandmaster Hunt = +2 Legs 1x Grandmaster Nightfall +3 Random (Recognises Pinnacle gaps in Gear) 1x Pit of Heresy = +2 Armour (recognising which pinnacle armour was obtained/required) 1x Prophecy Dungeon = +3 Armour (see above) 1x GoS Raid = +3 Energy Weapon (you know it’s gonna be an energy weapon 😆) Trials & Seasonal (Interference) give +2 Random Gear (fills gaps in missing loot - probably Raid) {I’ve probably missed a pinnacle reward? 🤔) With this type of system you can see a pathway to a higher boost, one that changes weekly to allow a climb in Gear Score Oh and whilst I’m thinking Make the [b]Prime Engram[/b] an absolute prize ....ranging anything from +2 to +7 in Power Boost, or a high level 70+ stat Exotic (+3 cap) Giving the joy of actually gaining one, going to a Cryptarch, & it being worth something upto & after the (currently 1050) legendary gear cap!

Last week on my Warlock, I got 3 pinnacle gauntlets with the same light and the exact same stat roll. Something weird is going on

I'm in your boat buddy, 9 of my 12 IB pinnacle drops were Kinetic weapons and my Warlock last week dropped 3 of 4 pinnacles as boots when all I needed was any 1 other piece of armor to hit the next power level.

7 RepliesSo I guess the people who don't particularly have this problem or get stupid good drops are somehow the beneficiaries of a completely different rng system? Suggesting duplicate protection would be a good idea is one thing, suggesting the rng system is purposely designed to duplicate drops is another altogether. How many energy weapons are in the Pinnacle loot pools anyway? How many pieces of armor... etc. For every story of a guy who took a hundred clears to get Anarchy, there's a story of a guy who got it on his first run. But he quickly learns to quit talking about it. I remember getting EP shotguns and just staying quiet when someone asked "did anybody get one?" because I'd just gotten my 7th or 8th and I felt bad when some guy said it was his 30th try. It's rng, there's always going to be streaks and outliers. And it's the guys with the stories who are going to respond to your post. Maybe you're not holding your mouth right.

Agreed. The pinnacle drops especially this season have been nothing short of embarrassing. Constant duplicates. RNG I don't mind but when it is constant duplicates, there's a problem somewhere in there. Drop protection HAS TO be a thing.

Now we are resetting the week over and over trying to do the same stuff over and over while expecting a different result. Game could have been called - "Destiny at the Edge of Tomorrow!" Friends: "So why do they call it Destiny? . . ." Me: "I don't know . . . . . . because it doesn't have one?"

12 RepliesEdited by max: 7/16/2020 2:35:06 AMthree damn weeks, three weeks I've been looking for a 1060 helmet, this is bs, I don't enjoy doing every useless pinnacle activities for 3 weeks straight just to raise my power from 1059.8 to 1060, you can't justify this, I did gos more than 40 times, got the title 3 or 4 months ago, and last week was the first time my warlock got the gos helmet, if their algorithm is working as intended well their algorithm sucks dick

6 RepliesBungie obviously is aware of players receiving multiple dupes with their pinnacle drops as this topic has been discussed in the Forum for at least the last 3 weeks. It’s obvious the algorithm is working as intended. Purpose being is to prolong the grind. Doesn’t it feel good knowing you can grind all the same activities again next week and hope you get the drops you need to increase your base power level?

2 RepliesThey need to do one of two things with pinnacle rewards. They could do both but it wouldn't be necessary if just one was applied. Option, the first: Create protection from duplicates for the week. Each pinnacle is coded to drop from its source so it can be coded what has dropped. If your crucible pinnacle gave you an energy weapon on your character (ie: warlock, crucible pinnacle, energy, true) then energy cannot be "true" for other sources for that week. This way, while they might only drop at 1-2 above cumulative power, we're getting what we need and power-up faster. Option, numero dos: If we're not getting protection from repeats then their power level needs to be 4-5 levels above your cumulative highest overall. This way, even if we get a few repeats, we have an easier time having options with the weapons and armor we use. And when we do get the correct drops, we power-up faster.

3 RepliesI know GoS has a lot of weapons but last week I got 2 secondary & 1 primary only armour piece was a cloak. Now on my 4th cloak @ 1060 and second chest. Still need helmet, arms, boots and heavy.
