(Images of SCP-042 have been redacted to avoid incidental activations at this time. Replicas may be produced in its stead for imagery at a future date.)
Containment Procedures: SCP-042 is to be held within a 1 meter x 1 meter (3ftx 3ft) steel crate. SCP-042 is never to be directly viewed or handled without proper blinding equipment. Due to Incident Log: 042-02, SCP-042 is not permitted to be used in any test and/or experiments.
Description: SCP-042 is believed to be that of a living metalic cube measuring 31 x 31 cm (1 x 1 foot) with various unidentifiable inscriptions upon each of it's surfaces. Scans of several of the inscriptions indicate SCP-042 to be covered in several unknown characters and symbols pertaining to various languages currently mostly unidentifiable.
Upon Viewing SCP-042, the object will appear as though it were what the subject assumed, would be the worst possible scenario. Subjects who were blind, Blinded, or rendered unable to see SCP-042 in any capacity, seem to not trigger 042's anomalous properties.

Letter From, Dr. Styx:
Translating the images scanned off of SCP-042 has proven near impossible with the exception of a single word. there are no languages catalogued within foundation databases that seem to match any of the pictures, though to our luck, the GOC has logged away the word "Woe" translated in an old book from their earliest iteration of the coalition within medieval France known as "The Book of the Inverted Tree", or "Book Qliphoth" for short. Unfortunately, as of the moment research is on a standstill, at least until further information is revealed.
Thanks, Dr. Alan J Styx
