Hear me out, or not
What if the chase for light had meaning? It was directly related to the challenges you’ve faced, not the gear you’ve nonchalantly acquired.
What if every season had a pinnacle activity that granted you special currency to unlock special items, like all the glows and cool looking cosmetics for armor.
And all you had to do was face enemies higher stronger than you? This means all yellow bars and up. Different tiers of enemies reward different amount of experience.
Armor could be rethought and rehashed to support certain play styles.
If you want to be a tank you would grind for a specific set. More pieces of that armor equipped would grant you bonus stats for that specific play style.
If you want to be a trapper, it would grant you bonus stats to your melee and grenade recharge and boost your speed and recovery and give you an increase in range and damage to your grenades and melee. And maybe access to a special type of grenade when you have all pieces equipped.
If you want to be a movement artist you would earn armor that boosts stats in agility, speed, increases your jump further lets you dodge farther and more often, so it increases the recharge speed of your class ability and also dramatically increases your handling and acquisition.
These are just some examples and can be fined tuned for better results of course, but again just examples so treat them as such.
The extra stat boost can push you past the limits you normally would have if you didn't equip for it. And you would actually benefit from those added stats.
I feel these changes would make the game fee fresh and interesting and would allow for more interesting and different builds in the future.
What do you guys think?
