Yesterday evening I beat Prophecy solo. However, the triumph didn't activate. I never left the instance except for the one time the Destiny server had a brain fart and kicked me out. I joined back and it put me where I was. Was the loss of connection to D2 enough to screw up my solo run? Or is there a time limit or something? It took me about 4 hours to complete it and I never had anyone in my fireteam. I just don't want to try it again and it not give me the triumph (again ;_;).

Yes it was enough. The solo, flawless, and solo flawless triumphs require 1 fresh continuous run from start to finish. So no leaving, disconnects, etc...otherwise you need to reset checkpoint progress & start fresh again.
