At first I was disappointed, because the reticle jumps around too much while shooting.
But then I took it into PvP and [insert Drifter ooh], it's surprisingly good. Worth it for PvP. Just don't try to compete with ARs in their range bracket.
Edit: After sunset it will still be viable in normal PvP where light level advantages are disabled.

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 8/16/2020 5:53:16 PMIt’s a good scout rifle - sadly though Scouts were destroyed to shoehorn in Bows And whilst it will be viable in regular PvP (and fairly speedy to acquire) It’s all down to if you want it & have time My advice - get it for the collections - just in case Bungie do a 180° & change their minds on pinnacle/ritual weapon caps (I’m in the same boat with Luna’s Howl - on the very last step precision head shots in Comp - but currently HC’s get wrecked by Revoker, Summoner/Gnawing Hunger & Mountain Top wielding guardians) I stopped even bothering with the Hush in Gambit

Randy's is the only scout in all of D2 that nearly reached the heights of the best scouts of D1 like the Vision of Confluence. I'm not a PVP guy, but the painstaking grind was totally worth it. It's great in PVE and PVP as long as you get lots of crits. Accidentally completed the requirements for the Recluse while I was at it, which is another one of my favorite D2 guns.
-
Randy's is life.
-
Enjoy. Ill take my black scorpion in pvp over my randys any day.
-
With it being sunsetted... Hell No it's not worth grinding for!
-
Not right now when Bungie won’t change meta from hand cannon and shotgun
-
You'd be better off with the Jade Rabbit. Yes it fires slower but you need fewer head shots. But, and I say this sadly as a SR main since D1. Scouts are useless right now, there are better options for each map from most other classes. I'm not saying don't use them, but if KD matters to you, then use something else.
-
Yeah, but why would you practice with or perfect a build around a weapon you can’t take into endgame? This idea that people are still going to use sunset weapons in “lesser” activities is a farce. You will always gravitate towards building around endgame viable gear, to which you will also use in non-endgame content as well. They sunset gear. It’s time to empty out your vaults, big fella’s. It’s dead weight.
-
Ehhh not really. In PvE there are way better options and in PvP there are no maps that really favor scout rifles and even if they did people would just snipe, making scouts even worse. They’re also extremely easy to outgun since scouts don’t really flinch a whole lot.
-
No point grinding for anything it’s all getting sunsetted eventually
-
It was worth it. Not much point now really.
-
Its a good scout but not worth the trouble anymore after it gets sunset
-
Lemme know if it’s still worth it after Beyond Light drops
-
Was. Grind for it now is worthless as it’s being sunset in a little over 2 months.
-
Yes the grind sucks but I use this gun all the time and still love it..
-
Anyone else find that gun has ghost bullets if you go from hip fire to ads? I love that arctype of scout, black scorpion is super underrated, but Randy's just seems off sometimes.
-
I accepted a long time ago some of those weapons quests were unobtainable. Congrats on earning it.
-
Best scout after no feelings
-
if the reticle is jumping around too much then you're using it wrong, shouldn't be using it in full auto anyway.
-
-
Yeah. I discovered how fun it could be in PvE situations. Shame it’s getting sunset after this season. PvP will be fine outside of IB and Trials tho
-
Symetry is betterer
-
A cool weapon that will be soon obsolete.
-
Grinding for it was worth it until bungie had the great idea to sunset it Now the only stuff worth the grind are exotics since they currently don’t have a use by date, though I’m sure that will change in the next year or so
-
jade rabbit in momentum is basically cheating
-
It's good with keyboard and mouse. It's just average with a controller.
