The Weapon Sunset / Retirement is a Retirement for Casual Players
I am a Husband, Father, full time worker and casual player. I always liked to play Destiny 1 and then 2 and bought the game and all the expansions. My friends left the game one by one. They found the grind too big.
So I fought my way through the game alone and for everything that didn't work alone I use the group searches with the app. To avoid being laughed at or kicked out of the groups I grind a small collection of pinnacle weapons, like Loaded Question and Breakneck or Oxygen SG3. This small collection is my little pride because most of the endgame equipment I will never get to see.
If it's not necessary I prefer to play with my old scout "Does not compute" when I don't need mods. This one is rated very bad everywhere, but feels good for me. Because of the armor mod in the current season, I can also use my old pulserifle without mods in Nightfallstrikes.
On all these weapons, I have always kept the level up and upgraded everything to masterpiece.
So far so good.
Now the level cap comes up to 1060.
When I search for Powerlimit:1060 in DIM, almost all my masterpiece weapons AND armor are there. That means for me, apart from an Exotic and a Titan Sign, I would have to upgrade 6 things to Masterpiece again in autumn.
My favourite sidearm "The Last Dance" I have now twice. One with Masterpiece from the Forsaken expansion with a cap of 1060 and one from the current season with a cap of 1360. Why? Should I go back to farm nights again to make the same weapon a masterpiece again?
All my Pinnacle Weapons are useless from the next season.
I've only just begun to deal with it, and the feeling of having accomplished something suddenly went down the drain. With it, the urge to grind something else.
I am very disappointed and annoyed that I bought the Season Pass.
