Chronicler being retired is a load of garbage
It takes 33 weeks to achieve the Truth to Power lore book. 33! When the DCV was announced, I started working on things I thought might leave. But there are only 22 weeks between when Beyond Light was announced (June 9th) and when beyond Light is being released (November 10th).
Bungie knew from the beginning that I was racing against an unbeatable opponent to get this done on time. However, they waited until like 2 months out before letting anyone know. Well, as a dedicated player, I feel kiiiind of betrayed. Thanks for wasting my time chasing a title I thought I actually had a chance at getting as a solo player!
And the kicker to all this, IT'S NOT EVEN PART OF THE CONTENT LEAVING THIS FALL.
P.S. screw glitches it's not like they'll work anyways if they keep doing patches and maintenance every weekly reset like they have been for a while.
P.P.S. I just needed to vent about this frustrating dilemma. I love this game but GOD does it piss me off to see my time go to waste in such an obvious way. I wish Bungie could do something about this one freaking triumph for this goddamn title but I doubt a single soul at that company will ever see this.

18 RepliesGiving players easier access to seals just because you either didnt actively pursue them when they were relevant or because you're somewhat new, takes away from the achievement to those who did or were here the whole time. If you show up late to a job interview, you aren't getting the job. And that's not on anyone else but you. I put in the time to get Chronicler and all the other seals I have. It would feel like a total waste of they start handing them out. Seals aren't supposed to easy or quick. Sorry, not sorry.

I like how the Flawless and Conquerer titles get reset every season. I think they should have a new chronicler and wayfarer title every year when the previous years gets reset.

First of all.You had two years,come on.If it wasn't leaving you wouldn't even be bothered to get it so fast. Second "as a solo player"? You think clans unlock truth to power every single week ? Every had to do it every third week of the Dreaming City curse and oh newsflash ,blind well has matchmaking so "being solo" isn't an excuse. Have a nice day.

Saying people had two years is beyond stupid. The thing was not introduced with a two year time limit. It was announced to have a 10 week time limit. Before then, it wasn't noted as content that was being vaulted. So as far as they knew, they could still do it. Edit: Last part isn't for OP, obviously

6 RepliesIf Bungie had made this announcement 33 weeks ago I'd be fine. But they made this announcement 10 weeks before the DLC drops, which caught everyone by surprise. It is one thing give people the heads up to allow Guardians enough time to get any last minute titles it is another entirely to be like, "Hey guys, 10 weeks left, if you want the Chronicler title, better start now....oh wait, jk!" See this is why no one is talking about Wayfarer, Blacksmith, or any of the rest of them because with the time you have left you should be able to obtain the ones you want with enough dedication. For those who are after the Chronicler title and don't have enough time to get everything in these last few weeks, for them the title is already Vaulted. Ask yourselves, for those still trying to obtain titles before the DLC drops, if Bungie came out and stated that starting tomorrow with a hotfix, all titles were moving to the content vault. Suddenly, out of no where. Sorry, but starting tomorrow it'll be in the vault, no more titles can be collected. There would be such an outcry and even some of you "you had time" folks would even be like, "Wow Bungie, what a way to give the community the shaft." This is that, but on a smaller scale, that is why there is frustration around it. Cause unlike all the other titles, Chronicler, its game over for those who were in the process of acquisition and won't have enough time.

Just incase some people don't know,I think that the chronicler title is being removed because some of the lore needed are on planets that are being vaulted when Beyond light launchers.

Although I believe this is a slap to the New Light players who happened to pay money later one. For veteran players, I'd say we had time to do any title if wanted that title. I can't make comments about how tedious RNG was for this title etc, as I don't really care for titles but do admire and respect those who dedicates themselves to the game that much.

It is part of the content leaving this fall. There is lore on Titan, Mars, Mercury, and Io that you need for the title.

Remember when the TtP lore pieces weren't just timegated, but also bound to RNG? When you had to wait for max curse week for a CHANCE at a lore drop...? That almost cost me my title, and I do nothing but pre-orders. I had the time, but -blam!-sake, this lorebook... I almost gave up. I've been a "chronicler" equivalent in every game I own, and I almost broke that cycle here. Because this title was PLAGUED by comparison to the others. It's not even hard to get, it's just... Absurdly tedious. FOMO be real for this content.

2 RepliesI simply can't understand if they need to remove it, then why they don't remove the timegate and also account limit for how often and when you can visit Mara Sov (who isn't even there!!) again. I'm missing five lore entries and that's the only thing missing for chronicler. When I started playing one year ago I didn't know about triumphs and titles, and when I realised it it was too late, since I thought I have all the time of the world to do it. Then they introduced sunsetting and yeah, thank you Bungie!

10 RepliesDefinitely agree it should be changed, if they can't stop the removal of the seal they should allow 1 entry per character rather than account, or treat every week as maximum curse week for the Queen's Court. I already got the title a while back but why should other players not get the opportunity when they're not given enough notice to finish it.

Literally the week I should get Chronicler is the week of November 10 so to get this news so close to when I'm actually supposed to get this really does feel like a kick in the balls for all my work. Like you said, I love this game but it's so demotivating to know that you can put months into something, only for it to disappear right at the end when you're finally about to get it

7 RepliesEdited by Tommy MFJ: 9/4/2020 5:37:06 PMStep 1: be on the 2nd curse week Step 2: complete the gateway between worlds bounty and claim the Oracle offering Step 3: head to the Oracle 5 minutes before the weekly reset and turn in the offering BUT DON'T OPEN THE CHEST. Step 4: a couple minutes after reset (just to be safe) grab the chest and you'll get a truth to power lore tab. Step 5: as it is now week 3, you can go collect the bounty and get a second oracle offering and a second lore tab. Getting two every three weeks should give you enough time to complete it. Important note: actively check when maintenance is happening. Theres one scheduled for tuesday I believe so you'll miss out on this glitch if its week 2 going into week 3. If not, you'll be able to do it once week 2/3 comes around

1 ReplyThis may be coming across as a bit cold but your out here complaining about chronicler, ie the bottom of the barrel. You feel betrayed for it going away? Tell that to the people who spent all that time trying to get more difficult or time frame restricted seals such as Blacksmith, Reckoner, Shadow, Undying, Savior, Almighty, Forerunner, MMIX, MMXX, and all the other seals that take more time and dedication then Chronicler. I understand you started in forsaken but bud, you HAD the time to get this seal if you wanted it, and its the EASIEST one to get. You could say its "time consuming" but the award for the most time-consuming seal is RECKONER, Simply because it requires luck, skill in 4 different areas of play in Gambit prime, as well as being the most time-consuming thing I have ever seen related to any playlist, Wanna argue with me on that, go look at the requirements for the emblems alone and its already asking you for more time dedication than anything the chronicler seal can even offer up. Do I even have to mention flawless raids? It's like making a mountain out of a molehill. You CHOSE to do other things, so if you don't have it done that's 100% a Byf level "that sounds like a you problem" situation there chief. You'll get em next time
