With all of the forest fires currently raging it made me curious as to how many of you have been close to one or or ever affected by one. What's your personal story?
The video I posted was from a couple of years ago in my area and was taken about a block from my work. The Columbia River is about a mile wide at this point to give you an idea of scale. It was horrific and saddening to watch the beautiful forest I live in burn for days on end.
Have a great weekend if you can!

Every year they say they’ll spent more time and resources to prevent and stop forest fires. And every year another forest fire gets out of control.
-
Had massive smoke. The sky was orange and we had the lights on all day. Our kid was in the path of one, but fortunately the winds died down. There is, however, nothing to stop it happening again next year and for decades to come, since the U.S. has decided that climate change is a hoax which interferes with making money.

Part of the reason that fires are out of control is because climate activists don like forest clearing Which (I think it’s called forest clearing) Is the practice of going through forests and clearing the dead plants Sometimes this also includes burning tall and flammable grasses but it will grow back quick. The controlled burning also creates fertilizer for new plants so I honestly don’t know why the practice was stopped

My area is cloaked in smoke. And it's all coming from ''downstairs''.

Lost everything except for the clothes on my back and a motorbike, last October during the Australian bushfires. It was at the edge of my farm, when a wind turned it into a major firestorm. Causing it to be on top of me and my friend who was staying with me at the time in just a matter of seconds. Where we had to try and flee the area as quickly as possible on motorbikes for the car was already on flames. In the end, I ended up low siding my bike due to passing out from a lack of oxygen and having burnt the inside of my lungs due to the extreme heat of the air. Where my mate ended up having to carry me out of there. So I spent the next few months in and out of hospital. As for things now, I only just started to rebuild this month due to all this lock down stuff throughout the year. So yeah, My heart goes out to all you Americans affected by your devastating fires. (≧∇≦*)

I live in the middle of a corn field. Not a forest to burn for miles...

The news doesn’t care about Montana but we deal with fires just like oh we’re going to die 24/7 have pity on us California. Our Smokejumpers, the special forces of fire fighters, are the best and anyone who says otherwise are blatant liars.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Edited by DemonicChronic: 9/12/2020 8:08:18 PMForest/wild fires aren't really a major issue here in NC but they do happen from time to time. A few years ago there were one significant enough to blanket parts of my county and others surrounding with haze but no danger was ever that close to where I actually live.

Edited by Times Vengeance: 9/11/2020 7:15:31 PMThere was a fire close to our area like 3 and a half years ago. We had just moved there recently and then were threatened with a potential evacuation warning due to the fire's path and how fast it was moving. Thankfully it was able to be contained before it got to the point where we had to evacuate, but it was still a pretty terrifying experience.
If you can't see the picture (cough, Ion, cough), it's of the smoke blocking out the sun to where you just see a small red dot in the sky.
Does having the sky around me turned orange count?
