[i]Status: Completed[/i] The War of Lies is a conflict of espionage, sabotage, and deception waged in secret across the solar system by the radical Syndicate and the lawless Reef Mob. It is a selfish war of attrition between two sides with little to gain and everything to lose This series was born of several older fanfics. Their history is in the spoiler below for any who are interested. This knowledge is not necessary to read the War of Lies [spoiler]The War of Lies is a crossover miniseries that was begun as part of a collection of works by several Destiny community authors. Unfortunately, all other parts of this series were discontinued a couple years ago, most unfinished at the time. The lead author of the series and a close community friend of mine, Karl Marx, approached me recently about finally tying off the entire series with one final arc, and War of Lies is meant to serve as its prequel to reintroduce old characters and set the base for the ending. Right now we’re not certain the final arc will be finished, but we’re working on it and I have decided to post the War of Lies anyway because it ended up a success on its own The series never really had a true storyline, and was held together by different authors writing a variety of crossovers covering different story arcs. Liam_Gue was also a large contributor with the series [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/225488010/0/0]Anibus[/url] and OverLordTitanX and myself are meant to be cowriters for the final arc by Karl Marx after the Echo Saga is finished[/spoiler] Now, there are way too many predecessor fanfics for you to look at before reading War of Lies, and they won’t explain much of this new series anyway, so here’s all that you need to know beforehand: [spoiler]• The Syndicate is an organization of mostly non-Guardians that believes the Traveler’s arrival brought the Collapse and disagree with Vanguard policies. Their current leader is Ava-3 and their previous leader is the retired Echo (Created by Karl Marx) • The Reef Mob is a large underground criminal organization based in 6 Demeter of the Reef and led by Seren Cay, an Awoken usurper.
