This is how I think vendors should be fixed:
1. Replace tokens with reputation, for the love of God
2. Let you choose what gear you want from rank-up packages
3. Offer repeatable weapon/armor bounties OR have activity-specific loot on a daily rotation with a high drop rate, similar to Altars of Sorrow.

The only thing I’d say about that is that I like to save tokens so I can hand them in to get gear when I choose. We used to be able to workaround that with XP in D1 by cashing in motes of light / ammo synths. But without a similar capability in D2 I’m not sure it would work as well.

You can open packages whenever you want though.

So they’d just stack at the vendor, instead of tokens stacking in our inventory ? If so, then yeah. That would work for me.
-
Pretty sure that’s how it worked in D1. If not, they could easily implement it like this.

You’d think so, but this is Bungie. I’m sure they’d find a way out there way to over complicate it.

Tokens are a better system than reputation bounties. Why? You don't have to pick up any bounties to increase reputation. Play the game mode and save the tokens for a future cash in. More useful than playing day to day. Atleast with tokens, it was good for investment purposes. Assuming they ever update tower vendors

Edited by RussellMania: 12/11/2020 3:54:03 PMYou have to go to the tower to turn in tokens. You have to go to the tower to pick up rep packages. It’s literally the same thing, except one doesn’t clog your inventory. The rep system is D1 was far better. And you can even pick up the bounties in the app now.

Are you turning in tokens everyday? Are you turning in gunsmith materials everyday? No Just like any consumable, we save and cash in whenever it is needed. The token system is more casual friendly. They just made the mistake of associating tokens with a slot machine.

Edited by RussellMania: 12/11/2020 4:36:17 PMAnd you don’t have to pick up your rep packages everyday either... I’m seriously confused what your point is. Having a rep system provides all the same benefits as a token system, without the drawback of needlessly taking up 7-8 slots in your inventory.
