Okay, first off, you guys probably saw the title of this post and thought “Oh great, what baseless nonsense is this idiot on about?”
I know I know, I sound like a raving lunatic. So I have to explain what I’m talking about and show you some lore so you know I’m not just making this stuff up lol
Okay, so we have the three Osmium siblings, the gods and leaders of the Hive:
Oryx, Savathûn and Xivu Arath
And in the lore there are characters who have made a point of trying to defeat these three. Who are these characters?
Eris Morn, Mara Sov, and Osiris
These three specifically have been working together to defeat the Osmium siblings, enacting what Mara calls “The Plan.” Not only that, but Mara has been confirmed to be the rival to Savathûn and Eris the equivalent of Oryx.
Now, these three also have plenty of focus on defeating the Darkness/Pyramids, prior to the Season of the Hunt Osiris was mostly against the Vex and Darkness, Eris wants all Hive dead, and other characters like Drifter and Elsie have also gotten involved in the fight against the Darkness and Savathûn. But it is Mara, Eris and Osiris that came together to kill the Osmium siblings.
I’ll share all the details and lore references here:
Here I’ll list a short version of the relevant events, provide links to the lore, and give brief summaries of the important information.
Mara Sov dreams of Oryx:

Mara dreamt of Oryx, the embodiment of Death and the Sword Logic, coming and killing her. At the time she still didn’t actually know it was Oryx.
Mara learns of Oryx’s family:
Tyrannocide II
The Wall of Wishes compares Oryx’s family to Mara’s, revealing their key qualities to Mara. Mara is compared to Savathûwûn. Sjur is compared to Xivu Arath and Uldren to Oryx, but we know neither of them are the “Anti’s” to those siblings (because Sjur is dead and Eris is the Anti-Oryx, not Uldren). And later on there’s a decent amount of lore building up Savathûn as Mara’s ultimate enemy and equal.
Osiris and Eris join Mara

Osiris and Eris approach Mara, joining forces to end Oryx as well as his sisters. This grimoire doesn’t name Eris or Osiris, but there’s tons of hints and later on a large amount of other lore that reveal it to be them and continue to develop their combined effort in the plan, such as The Road to King’s Fall and a ton of messages between Mara and Eris, as well as a handful of excerpts addressing Osiris’s worry about Oryx.
Anyway, Mara creates the plan to make herself Ascendant while Eris leads the effort to kill Oryx. We kill Oryx and become his successor, additionally honing ourselves through him and the Touch of Malice, but we are not the anti-Oryx. We are the next champion of the Sword Logic, the place higher than Oryx, though we did not take the throne.
Eris is the Anti-Oryx
Poison
The Hive acknowledge us as the blasphemous new champion and would-be-Taken King, but they declare Eris the Anti-Oryx. Eris who devoted her entire being to understanding Oryx entirely and in doing so became like him, making herself his one worthy enemy.
Okay, now that your brains are swollen from all that reading, lets stuff more knowledge in there! You people are real masochists for lore, aren’t ya?
Anyways, Xivu Arath is the only sibling that doesn’t have a confirmed “Anti” yet. And Osiris is the only member of the trio that hasn’t been confirmed to be an “Anti.”
And this season his entire goal is to stop Xivu Arath and her followers.
So you can see why I think it’s him.
“But, KS, what if it’s not Osiris? Maybe you’re just a dumb nerd with no life who hasn’t seen the sun in months and your 4-year diet of eating nothing but Fruit Loops is finally starting to affect your mental state? Are there any other contenders for the role of Anti-Xivu?”
I’m glad you asked!
Before Season of the Hunt Osiris almost never even talked about Hive! He dismissed them as unimportant compared to the Vex and Darkness itself! All this despite uniting with Eris and Mara, and it’s only now that he showed any interest in the Hive (though we do have several old lore excerpts about his concerns towards Oryx).
Well, before the Hunt, my best guess was Uldren (and later Crow). Uldren was always a straightforward fighter and hunter, ever since his original life as a human! And being Mara’s sibling and compared to Oryx’s family in the Wall of Wishes was the extra icing on top. But Mara tells us in Tyrannocide IV that Uldren knew nothing of the plan, though he was aware of her relationship with Eris and other things.
When Uldren was revived as Crow I still thought, “heck yeah, Crow is still the best candidate.”
But now we have Season of the Hunt. And as Crow he’s been a good help with the Wrathborn, but let’s face it, Crow isn’t the Anti-Xivu. Crow is just way too wholesome. He’s almost the opposite of Xivu, when to be Xivu Arath’s rival and equivalent he would need to be an embodiment of war. Like how Mara matches Savathûn’s cunning and Eris matches Oryx’s pursuit of understanding and mission of extermination.
And then, of course, there’s “Us.” The Guardian, Young Wolf, Godslayer, the Destiny Waifu Magnet, Hero of the Red War, etc.
We’re a perfect equal to Xivu Arath, and honestly a pretty good match to Oryx (though we’re certainly too lacking in the intelligence department to rival Savathûwûn). Heck, we killed Oryx and we’ll probably be the ones to kill Xivu and Savathûn.
But that’s exactly why we probably won’t be the Anti-Xivu. We’re the all-purpose protagonist. Let the NPC’s have their glory and special storylines, we’ll just stick to punching everything and getting loot.
So yeah. Osiris is Anti-Xivu? I think so. How about you?

I thought it was considered “name-bane” like how Eris was once the Crota-bane and Oryx-bane vendor back in D1?
