The cavern burst into light as Titan activated his helmet light, revealing a dank, empty tunnel, small pools of water collecting at the edges. Titan kept his head on a swivel, wandering further down in search of a large burst of energy, most likely only read by his instruments as it was far from the main city. He stopped as he entered a large cave, massive stalactites and stalagmites obscuring him from the view of the four figures in the center of the room.
Unfortunately for him, one of the figures had spotted him and called out to the others. Cursing under his breath, Titan fired off several rounds from his revolver, causing the figure to duck out of the way. He turned to run out, but was thrown backwards as a figure he hadn't seen punched his chest, sending him pin wheeling into the center of the room. As he tried to get up, he sank into the earth until he couldn't escape. Struggling uselessly, he took in the figures that he could see, hoping to find some way out.
Around him stood four of the figures. The one who had spotted him was an average sized woman, with simple features that wouldn't stand out in a crowd except for eyes of a bright, sharp yellow, hidden by her dark hair that contrasted her white skin. The one who had slapped him backwards stood almost as tall as himself, but with much more bulk, a man with a strong jawbone and prominent nose, with no hair hiding the mass of scars across his head, almost turning the tanned skin white. One stood to his left, her face twisted in concentration as her green eyes blazed like flames, her brown hair slightly lighter than her skin. The last stood slightly in the shadows, their features hidden within a hood and mask, except blazing red eyes that seemed to stare through Titan's visor and into his soul. The last one stood behind him, and he couldn't tell what they appeared to be, only heard their voice, deep and commanding.
"What do we have here? A spy, seeking to undermine me? Please, explain yourself to me."
Titan laughed mockingly. "You'll get nothing from me except a bullet in your skull."
The voice chuckled, startling Titan. "Such spunk, such fire. It almost makes me sad to kill you."
Titan chuckled in return. "You can kill me as many times as you want. I'll keep coming back."
"Is that so? Well then, we'll have to try a more... permanent... solution."
A chill ran down Titan's spine as the owner of the voice stepped in front of him, placing their hands on the sides of his head. Immediately, a tide of pain coursed throughout his body while his mind raced through memories he didn't know he had. He growled in pain as he fought to send something to anyone. As the pain doubled, he let loose a roar that shook the cavern and yanked himself out of the earth, throwing the final figure aside. Straining, he opened a portal and threw Clarent through it, as well as a psychic call to anyone who came near the sword, a warning that was cut short as the portal closed when the tall man slammed him into a wall. Titan groaned as he heard bones break, sagging to the ground as the final figure stepped forward to finish what he had began. "Who are you?"
Before the darkness closed over him, he heard the figure reply softly. "I am the end of worlds."
