Cosmodrome controversy. (LONG POST)

Alright, sick back, relax, grab popcorn, and be prepared to either flame my opinion or agree but here I go. I mostly stay quiet on controversial things in the Destiny Forums because let's be honest, we are a toxic bunch here. I've probably only made like 3 or 4 forums posts here and 2 of them were stupid questions in general. But the Cosmodrome dilemma that has now blown up due to the recent TWAB has made me want to put up my two cents and I can only hope that Bungie reads this. The Cosmodrome when it was first announced had me hyped. I was all caught up in the nostalgia and looking forward to exploring an old favourite zone of mine from D1. It launched with Beyond Light and I knew it was going to be watered down because Bungie had said with the promise of the rest being added in S13 so I didn't mind. I also didn't mind that the zone was reissued as a New Light Introduction area. That's dope too, even if Shaw Han thinks us Vets are "starting our destiny" too. Reimagining Omnigul as Navota was fine as we defeated Omnigul many years ago. Plus the whole Jovian Complex was opened up and it makes the fight a whole lot less claustrophobic. Good job Bungie! Now, here's the hot water I'm about to step in. Season 13 launches and we get Devil's Lair and Fallen S.A.B.R.E strikes added from D1 into D2. Hell yeah. I'm stoked! I'm full nostalgia blasting my way through the Devil's Lair Ordeal. So many enemies! The Music! I'm in love. I easily got a 100k hero completed with 2 randoms from matchmaking. Awesome stuff. Then I loaded up patrol. I wanted to go explore the Blast and those areas leading up to Sepiks itself. I got to the Divide and hit a wall, literally. I was in disbelief. It made absolutely no sense to me why I couldn't go to an area that was already in the game and was a previous patrol zone. I set my frustration aside and headed to the Forgotten Shore and was curious if the area leading to the Grotto's was still non existent and to my surprise it wasn't. I can fully explore that area minus the underground sections. Cool, I'm alright with that. Then I read this week's TWAB and man. Man I'm all for new stuff and I'm glad that Bungie is focusing more on the "new first" mentality but I feel as if the just released a half baked Cosmodrome. Didn't update the strikes to current D2 time and lore. The Devil's house was crushed and left scattered. How did they all the sudden get an army and rebuild Sepiks again? The enemies are the color of every other fallen in the game, not the Devil's red. The dialogue for the strike is the EXACT SAME as the first time we stepped foot into the Lair back in D1. They easily could have just changed the name to a new servitor enemy and have the dialogue change to like "some random house-less fallen built this servitor and we have to destroy it" type thing. Make it play exactly as it does now and boom. It's recycled but fits into the new lore. Easy. Completely "forgetting" that Rise of Iron even happened makes me sad. Underated expansion in my mind and I'm sad that they didn't make the wall with the hole in the spawn area of the strike be blocked up or repaired. No dead Siva strands lying around. The area in the factory is exactly the same as vanilla D1 Sepiks, not opened up like in ROI. I imagine the S.A.B.R.E strike will be exactly the same. Same dialogue, no patrol access. I know I'm ranting about something that isn't a game breaking bug or something that involves armour or weapons but for a Destiny Vet, I feel it matters. And yes, before anyone says it, I can easily "go back to D1 if you love it so much old man!" but this is supposed to be THE Destiny experience. Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be the universal Destiny experience. We are in a new generation of gaming. The new consoles and PC's can handle the storage size of Destiny 2 if the Cosmodrome strike areas were open for patrol. Doesn't have to be the entire underground and side path areas from D1 story missions but god PLEASE just remove the wall heading to the Blast. I beg you Bungie. Please. If you made it this far, I thank you for reading. This was essentially me ranting about a damn patrol zone for 15 minutes of writing. I know I'm preaching to the choir on this one anyway. You all may now enter your two cents too. Flame my opinion or agree but I hope to see you Guardians out there, have a good day everyone. <3 PS. ADD COSMODROME TRIUMPHS FOR CHESTS, PATROLS, PUB EVENTS, LOST SECTORS! PLEASE BUNGIE!

The wall is still here. But the area is there. It's in the strike! So there'll only be half of the Vault of Glass then....
