TBH I kind of feel like higher difficulty exotics should be stronger than other exotics.
Quest exotics should be more powerful than world drop exotics.
And raid exotics should be stronger than every weapon in the game.
It just makes sense to me that the more difficult an activity is the more powerful the reward should be.

"raid exotics should be better than every single weapon in the game" But it total bull that decent weapons or catalysts have a single crucible step in their objectives, right? Because it's unfair that you force players to play something they might not like? How dare you lock good/cool stuff in pvp! But also, lock the very best in the game behind raids. Summary of d2 player base.

“Let’s make only one exotic that’s strong per year” Do you see the problem?

To many people complained about gatekeeping and so bungie decided “EQUAL POWER FOR ALL no one player shall be more powerful than the other even if they worked much harder then the other player and if people find a good weapon that the normal people cant get then nerf it to the ground.”
read that like a speech
Just be thankful they're not like D1 exotics to try and get they were a stinker well thorn was. And the Dark Drinker Sword if you picked up the quest on your Titan (yes I did doh!)

Bungo wants to avoid gate keeping with endgame (as if we don’t already have that). But yeah I want my Eyes of Tomorrow to be good at DPS without AO active.
