Anyone else really sick of the meta atm? Like, stasis is bullshit and all, but it feels like all I see in PvP atm is shotguns and Hand Cannons.
As of 16/05 28% of all players in PvP are using just 5 weapons. 4 of which are either 120 RPM Hand Cannons or shotguns (with the fifth being Dead Man's, which is a problem for another time). Felwinter's alone accounts for 10%.
Out of all weapons that are used by more than 1% of PvP players. There are a total of: two fusions, three snipers, and zero launchers. There are a total of four primary weapons that aren't Hand Cannons. Even below 1% it still seems very one sided for a while.
In a game where weapons rely heavily on either aim or movement, it stands to reason that weapons that rely more on movement than aim perform better, given the slew of movement abilities on offer. Shotguns, which require almost no ability to aim, are dominant. No shit.
Imo they should be significantly less consistent. Maybe change the handling, the range or the bullet spread. Or maybe all of the above. It is ridiculous that the only way to effectively compete is to use a shotgun. Of course some archetypes are different than others and should adjusted accordingly imo. Shotguns are just way to forgiving at the moment.
Handcannons are another issue, 120s in particular, being able to dip in and out of cover with one is what makes them popular, but the sheer range and damage 120s provide is just too much, even post-nerf it needs to be dialed down.
Of course another option is to buff things up to the current meta's level. But I doubt people can stomach yet another special weapon dominated meta.
As a sidenote, I would like to see snipers buffed, either that, or stop making new snipers have stupidly high zoom, idgaf about aim assist, I just want to ADS without being able to analyze the quark structure of my enemy's -blam!-ing toenail.
Also keep changes away from PvE, please and Ty.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
TL;DR
-blam!- Shotguns, -blam!- handcannons, buff snipers pretty please. Ty.

The special ammo situation has needed to be addressed for years, it never will be and now it's far too late for people to turn around on that. As for hand canons, they'll never be nerfed.
