I had a great experience day one - we got nowhere but we all had a great time. Then yesterday came. Most were pretty civil about things but when the wipes got too many you could tell people were getting pissed with each other. Instead of helping people we just start getting critical and harsh with each other.
There’s the know-it all’s - who are great at telling you what to do and commenting how easy things are only to try it themselves and be just as bad or worse.
Really annoying.
Then you’ve got the encyclopedia- who thinks they know everything about everything and is not afraid to correct you or give an earful as to why you suck.
This game promotes an elitism that is very discouraging. Day one raids should actually be the easiest and most accessible so that ANYONE can do it. Then after everyone has some loot THEN turn on the contest mode and have your race. Make it stupid hard. Have some fun with it.
Bungie is terrible at actually maintaining a player base. In gambit we fight each other for motes, fight the adds and fight invaders. Not fun. In strikes we fight for kills. And in day one raids we fight against each other for failing something we just attempted. This game could do so much to promote unity and a sense of community but continue to just make it elitist and exclusive.

I got with a lfg group on the first day of vog, ended up on mid station, i was a hunter with tether and had anarchy, a shot gun and chain damage grenade launcher, the guy I ended up with was a god according to himself. As no one knew what to expect you can imagine people were dropping like flies. The god I was with started complaining about people and me getting killed, at the same time I noticed this guy crouched near the doorway, I asked him "what are you doing"? He replied "I have 2 snipers, I'm killing the cyclops, I'm not dieing, you deal with the adds and stop getting killed!" I left. Joined a group of friends and got to atheon, but had to leave it there because of work. Have not been in since.

Are you really serious about the ,,day one should be the easiest" thing and that ,,bungie only cares about the elite players"? Since the launch of D1 the day ones have always been the biggest events in the game and pretty much are what keeps the core community playing. And the only thing that bungie did for ,,elite" players in whole D2 was introducing GMs. After 2 years they now at least listened to the community and bring back hardmode because the raid on day 2 was already easier than a Master nightfall.

It’s 1 day mate, wait a day then do it. Giving top level players one out of 365 days is plenty fair for everyone. They’re also making a master mode later for those who chose to do it. Too hard? Don’t it, simple

I kind of Agree to some of your points but this fight for kills/fight for DPS/ motes et cetera is IMO not Bungies issue or fault. Some Bounties they design however, certainly is.

Agreed, Bungie has pandered to the elitists for so long that what's left of the good guys is really dwindling. My friends list, only comprised of Destiny players, is 120 long but usually only about 6-8 are actually on. Maybe 20 are active at all. Luke Smith's scarab lord attitude has screwed this game, and I'm really hoping that the new crew understands just how far gone the game is from the 13 million people who bought into how awesome D1 was within the first couple months of release.

Too many douche begs and not enough good people. I lost my bap this weekend in lfg groups. After a few hours absorbing bullshit I just started to fire back. Patience completely snapped. Any guardian even questioned the colour of my shader I was kicking off. Im a very placid kinda guy but there is only so much nonsense anybody can tolerate. I’m normally just keep stoom and only speak to communicate at encounters but my god some people just like the sound of their own voice!

It gets out of hand too quickly and we all forget we’re just trying to play a game lol
