3.7% of players have comepleted a raid on Xbox. When you create content for a group that small I wouldn’t expect too much. It’s a failure on Bungies part to not create an overall better experience.

  • 3.7 of everyone who has ever booted up the game. This is why trophies are useless as an activity stat.

  • I would personally say the biggest issue is Bungie locking emblems behind day 1 completions and RNG for exotics has ruined the community. It’s not a reason for the toxicity which spreads to everyone, but I think that has a large part to do in why it happens.

  • The players are to blame. To many people are garbage at D2, have crap load outs and are entitled. It is nobody’s job to carry someone in a raid. You have to know the mechanics and hold your own period.

  • You do realise that there was a time when you didn't know how to raid? Were you never carried? How are people supposed to know the many mechanics of a raid without relying on youtube and the content creators?

  • If you want to go in blind then make your own lfg post. Nothing wrong with that. Most of the time I use LFG and it’s hit or miss. I personally don’t mind raiding with someone who hasn’t cleared it as long as they know what to do and can follow directions. I understand it is one thing to know what to do and having the experience doing it. I will not kick someone because they are trying to get the experience. I will not carry tough.

So what you're saying is the best way for an inexperienced 'raider' is to seek a sherpa who is willing to teach or carry? This may seem trivial to someone experienced like you but I assure you, it's an honest question. I've never done a raid in all the hours I've played and the LFG seem to all want D1 clears of VOG or some experience with the raid. How do I, or anyone else in a similar position get that experience other than watching youtube videos? I have to sit back and see your point of view to understand where you're coming from. I don't like going into Nightfalls with people who don't have at least 1 relevant champion mod equipped. That's the commonality I've found with your point of view. Accommodating the unprepared fireteam members. I'll help them still but from what I know of raids, the stakes are much higher and teamwork is essential. That's fair enough and I can see where you're coming from.

  • I think I'll have the best answer for you here. I AM a destiny raid sherpa. With hundreds of players taught by me and my team, who also once learned from me. Yes, the best way for a new, returning, or solo player to learn a raid (or multiple raids) is to seek a sherpa or at least someone willing to TEACH the raid. We were doing 15 DSC raids in a day back during beyond light and I've done almost 300 of that raid alone, with nearly 90 sherpa runs. We have groups that are readily available, patient, and willing to talk you through what's happening and why. Find a sherpa and they'll be happy to teach you. I also run an xbox sherpa discord that anyone is welcome to join and ask for help (although we are prioritizing teaching our senior players this week so they're all trained up) All services are free here: https://discord.gg/mcVQkXS

  • Ayy another pog sherpa. I'm a sherpa as well. I don't have the same stats as I don't have the free time I used to, but I used to sherpa Wrath of the Machine and such. I taught a clan VoG yesterday even though I had all my clears done (mostly cause I enjoyed the raid, but helping them was a bonus)

  • Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the response and information. I should say, I never want to be carried. After reading your previous post, I now understand the difference between teaching and carrying. I simply want to learn the mechanics, roles and suggested loadouts/subclasses............ I will NEVER want to be carried......just taught. Although Youtube channels are good they're one way communication whereas I like to ask questions and hear someone else's opinion or recommendation when I'm learning. Trial by error sometimes but other times its good to speak with more experienced people. To summarise, I am more than happy to pull my weight in any coop activity, but when it comes to raids I just don't know how. Cheers.
